Designation on wallpaper: all the details of decoding

To date, almost all construction materials have their designations and markings. These symbols and abbreviations indicate all the characteristics of the goods, and knowing their decoding, you can pick up a really high-quality detail that will satisfy all your requirements. The same goes for wallpaper, which also has its own notation. They are labeled differently, but in most cases the symbols are the same (no matter whether they are foreign or domestic). How to decipher the notation on the rolls of wallpaper?

Classification by degree of moisture resistance

Such a twisting strip indicates that the paper on this material is resistant to rubbing with a damp sponge or cloth. You can use these wallpapers in almost any room, but in most cases they are pasted kitchen facilities.

This icon is not fundamentally different from the previous one. These wallpaper can also be washed with a damp sponge, but in this case the manufacturer allows the use of non-aggressive cleaners. In the first case, the surface of the material could only be treated with a damp cloth.

This designation on the wallpaper, like a triple winding strip, suggests that they can be washed with almost any soap solution or detergent. Even this material is the most stable of all of the above to moisture.

Marking on wallpaper: degree of resistance to moisture and care requirements

Such a symbol is usually marked wallpaper, resistant to mechanical damage.
They also tolerate wet cleaning well. In some models, it is permissible to use not only a sponge and a rag, but even a brush for washing.

These designations on wallpaper (vinyl including) indicate a "triple" degree of material resistance to mechanical damage. They are washed almost any powder and household detergent. It should be noted that these wallpapers are very resistant not only to mechanical damage, but also to the effects of alkaline solutions. And from their surface, you can remove even the most persistent grease stains.

Resistance to fading

This designation on the wallpaper indicates a high resistance to direct sunlight. However, manufacturers recommend to still darken the room with a too bright glow.

"Plyusik", indicated on this symbol, indicates that these wallpaper are more or less resistant to ultraviolet. But again, manufacturers do not guarantee a high resistance of the material to fading and burnout, and therefore recommend to darken the room during a bright glow in the daytime.

But the wallpaper with this marking is allowed to use on the sunny sides, unlike the two previous cases. In addition, they can be under prolonged exposure to direct UV rays without the risk of fading.

The material with this designation can also be used on the sunny sides, and it too can withstand the direct rays of the sun. The designation on the wallpaper, namely the "plus", drawn in the center of the "sun", indicates that this material is more protected from ultraviolet radiation than all the other analogues. Therefore, it is an order of magnitude greater than the rest.

The most resistant wallpaper

Wallpaper with a designation in the form of a double sun can be used in the hottest and sunny climate, without fear for possible burnout of paint or loss of its brightness. But at the same time, the cost is the highest, which explains their low prevalence in the Russian market. Although the wallpaper with this marking practically does not lose its pristine appearance for several years under the constant influence of direct sunlight.
