Why do we need a road border?

The word "border" in French is translated as "edge", "border" or "border". In the construction of "road border" - the name of the profile separator between the sidewalk and the roadway. More recently, to purchase this product of proper quality there was no possibility, because the road borders were made of poor quality concrete. This made the road stones unattractive, and they did not meet the performance requirements for them.

The curb road has long been an integral part of the roadway. Buying a sidewalk tile, it is necessary to remember that curb stones should be sustained in the same style. In addition, it must be remembered that this road element serves not only for transport restrictions, but also for the protection of tiles, and also prevents the ingress of gravel and sand onto a nearby lawn. Therefore, the road border of proper quality performs the functions of a delimiter between the sidewalk and the carriageway, which means that it is the guarantor of convenience and safety.

Modern manufacturers make a road curb of high quality and the latest technology. The most demanded technology is vibrocompression, since this process can provide an optimal ratio of cost and performance, such as aesthetics and durability. You can also change the color of the mixture by adding the necessary coloring pigments.

The curb is laid using special equipment, however, in addition to that, rubble, concrete and sand are required. Only after the installation of these auxiliary materials can you begin to lay out the tiles, and hence, to the paving stone. It is the quality of execution of these manipulations in the future will affect the durability.

The need to use a curb road during the paving of the sidewalk has been proved by many examples. The functional load of this road element also includes drainage of water, both thawed and rainwater, from the gaps between the tiles. Therefore, it is strongly advised to use a similar framing of surfaces.

In the Institute of "Construction of Full-Covered Coatings of Urban Roads" a document has been issued, in effect since 1996, in which the universal phrase "side stone" is used. However, the same curb is meant under it. The people also spread the name "curb".

On the curbs, which in themselves are a kind of road marking, can also be applied color markings corresponding to the GOST on "Side surfaces of curbs and its top".

Curbs may denote not only the boundary between the roadway and the sidewalk, but also the so-called "security islands" or "island guides." Safety lanes should be at least 10 cm high and aligned with the main sidewalk surface. However, in modern construction, a curb below this level is allowed to give an aesthetic appearance to the streets of the city.
