Why do we need a road border?
The word "border" in French is translated as "edge", "border" or "border". In the construction of "road border" - the name of the profile separator between the sidewalk and the roadway. More recently, to purchase this product of proper quality there was no possibility, because the road borders were made of poor quality concrete. This made the road stones unattractive, and they did not meet the performance requirements for them.
The curb is laid using special equipment, however, in addition to that, rubble, concrete and sand are required. Only after the installation of these auxiliary materials can you begin to lay out the tiles, and hence, to the paving stone. It is the quality of execution of these manipulations in the future will affect the durability.
The need to use a curb road during the paving of the sidewalk has been proved by many examples. The functional load of this road element also includes drainage of water, both thawed and rainwater, from the gaps between the tiles. Therefore, it is strongly advised to use a similar framing of surfaces.
On the curbs, which in themselves are a kind of road marking, can also be applied color markings corresponding to the GOST on "Side surfaces of curbs and its top".
Curbs may denote not only the boundary between the roadway and the sidewalk, but also the so-called "security islands" or "island guides." Safety lanes should be at least 10 cm high and aligned with the main sidewalk surface. However, in modern construction, a curb below this level is allowed to give an aesthetic appearance to the streets of the city.
