Wedding champagne or how to choose the main drink of a wedding celebration

The brainchild of Monsieur Perignon (he, the French abbot, is considered the legendary creator of the sparkling one is visible from Champagne) must be present at any wedding. But the trouble is that it is difficult to choose among hundreds of varieties and brands. Moreover, wedding champagne can be of two kinds: the one that is drunk, and the one that should simply stand on the table as an ornament and the necessary element of serving the wedding banquet.

On how and why to choose champagne for the wedding, we'll talk. So…

Do not drink for the sake of, but beauty for

The first wedding drink - champagne - should stand on the table excellently for beauty. Heresy!? By no means. In the Russian tradition, both the bride and groom rely on the bottle - exclusively "shop boulo". Modern organizers of wedding banquets interpret the tradition somewhat differently: the bottle becomes a kind of a symbol of the newlywed couple. As a consequence, the unattended champagne is decorated with everything you can: from beads and flower bouquets to bright prints with photos of the young. In the latter case, the real bottles are obtained. The cost of decoration is more than compensated by the fact that champagne for the presence on the table can be chosen any - just to shape the bottle was classic.

Wedding drink

The second category of wedding champagne is that which will be drunk. Since it is with a glass of champagne and the feast begins, you should somewhat smooth out the effect of its subsequent mixing with stronger drinks - vodka and cognac - that is, as close as possible to the degree of the first toast to the degrees of the next. The option looms one - dry champagne (brut).

It brut (despite the passion of domestic and a number of foreign manufacturers to create dozens of varieties of semisweet champagne for one or two dry) and worth looking for.

Domestic or imported

There is no arguing - it's better than the French champagne candidate to fill the wedding glasses simply do not. However, among domestic manufacturers, you can also find quite decent options. For example, the St. Petersburg champagne Marleson is worth a penny - repeatedly surpassing both the classical Soviet champagne, and a number of brands, united under the general brand of Moscow champagne.

Abrau-Durso remains the leader among the domestic producers. Brut, of course. And, by virtue of the tradition of scarcity of "champagne" toasts, it is not worth saving - collection and vintage varieties of Abrau brute to buy quite by force even for the most modest wedding.

Alas, with manufacturers from France such clarity is not present - their tens and hundreds. Moreover, rare champagne wines are able to reach our fatherland without increasing their cost by five to six times. The ideal option for buying - the average cost of the brand, which can be purchased in duty-free. In shops that are no longer subject to customs regulations and excise taxes, you can buy really decent champagne at a more than affordable price.

As a guide, you can use the menu, which is supposed for the wedding table. So, the table, which is dominated by fish and seafood, is better "to equip Chablis or Sancerre, and the meat table will be ideal for glasses filled with Delsas or St. Amor.
