"Leafs and roots" - fable of Ivan Andreevich Krylov

Fables of Ivan Andreevich Krylov are known to us from the younger school age. Why, in spite of the deep moral meaning, the best works of the Russian fabulist are taught exactly in the elementary grades? This is done so that children as early as possible learned to evaluate bad and good deeds, and the rhymed stories of Krylov are ideal for this. In this article, we will analyze the work "Leafs and roots". Fable Is ideal not only for schoolchildren, but also for home reading.

The summary of the work

Krylov's fable "Leafs and roots" has a very interesting story, which in itself deserves attention. That is why, before starting a full analysis of the work, let's get acquainted with its brief content.

The narrative begins with how the leaves cute talk with marshmallows (here it is necessary to pay attention to the fact that in the story of this fable the author calls marshmallows the southern winds), which gently caress them from the morning until late at night. The main characters boast of how useful to all around: travelers are hiding under the crown for salvation from heat, beautiful maidens resort to them to dance dances, and the nightingale chooses a tree for spring hymns ... "Leafs and roots" fable is very unusual, because as far as Ivan Krylov never thought of reviving the crown of the tree.

The second part of the poem begins when the roots of the tree, on which they grow, are connected to the monologue of the leaves. Here the work immediately takes a different turn, at the end of which a separate quatrain is prescribed its main meaning.

Moral of the fable "Leafs and roots"

Like all the others, the presented rhymed story carries a certain meaning and conducts an analogy with man. "Leafs and roots" is a fable, which, with the example of plants, shows a proud attitude towards oneself and disrespect for other people.

Leaves - narcissistic, beautiful and so irreplaceable, are certainly proud. They cite as examples of marshmallows several situations in which the crown, consisting of them, is simply irreplaceable for people ... History recalls a case in life when a successful artist is proud of his services, and people around him often do not know that the guarantee of his popularity is a painstaking The work of the producer - a man who always remains in the shadows. So the roots are in fact of great importance, of which self-confident leaves, obviously, have forgotten.

"Leafs and roots" - a fable with a multifaceted meaning

In addition to the basic morality, the presented work of Ivan Andreevich Krylov has a certain "double bottom". The clear meaning of the fable is that success and recognition are not always deserved. The example of leaves shows a man who was proud because of his abilities and completely forgot about those who helped him all the time.

Another moral of the poem is that true talents are always left out. In the days of Ivan Krylov's existence, it was really very difficult to get through to a man with great abilities who does not have any connections ... But, of course, that was probably always the case. The roots in the presented work are at the very bottom, like a poor man who sells his creativity in the hands of those who have more financial opportunities.
