The synechia of the girls. Treatment and causes

What is a synechia? Simply put - this is the fusion of the labia minora. Unfortunately, many mothers are unaware of this anomaly and do not know that the baby is beginning to have a synechia. In girls, treatment should begin as soon as possible, otherwise it can lead to adverse effects.

It is necessary to regularly examine the sexual organs of the child. Splicing is gradual. Thus, small labia can as if stick together, closing the entrance to the vagina. Therefore, if the synechia began to form and even close the entrance to a millimeter, you should immediately contact a pediatric gynecologist.

Growth can cause discomfort to the child and even make it difficult to urinate. The baby is crying at this moment, because she really hurts. Sometimes it is accompanied by secretions and rashes. It happens that poor urine tests cause exactly the synechia in girls, treatment in this case should be urgent, as there is a possibility of infection.

The synechia of the girls. Causes of appearance

  1. Complications during pregnancy. If an infection was detected during fetal development, or the mother suffered edema and gestosis, the newborn girl has a tendency to splice, so the condition of her genitals should be carefully monitored.
  2. Excessive hygiene. Strange as it may seem, excessive hygiene can lead to such consequences. Why is this happening? If the mother tries very hard to wash the girl, she does this quite often, and even constantly with soap, the chances of the formation of the synechia are very great. Thus, a very delicate vulvar mucosa loses its protective layer, becomes drier, while frequent mechanical effects (the process of washing itself) begin to injure it. That's when it heals, and there is a fusion. Therefore, one should not be too sensitive to the purity of the sexual organs of girls, only after emptying the intestines (except for the morning and evening toilet), and soap or other hygiene products should be used only once a day.
  3. How the excessive hygiene promotes the formation of the synechia, and its absence leads to the same. In this case, the inclination is even much higher.
  4. Urinary tract infection. When infected on the vulva, there are various dangerous bacteria that cause inflammation of the mucosa, which leads to the formation of a synechia in girls. Treatment in this case should be done only after a thorough examination, including urine tests, smears, ultrasound.

The synechia of the girls. Treatment

If the diagnosis is confirmed, the gynecologist either prescribes medication or surgical treatment.

Medicamentous consists in laying hormonal (estrogen-containing) ointments. This method is used if the synechia are in the initial stage and the fusion is minimal. This method is quite effective. Regular lubrication of the synechia zone within 2-4 days leads to a positive result.

To prevent re-fusion in the next month, it is recommended that after each erosion, treat the child's genitalia with a special herbal decoction or grease with a fat cream. The procedure is repeated daily for a month, and then, for prevention, once or twice a week.

If the medicinal treatment of synechia has not produced a result or the fusion is strong (especially when it causes problems with urination), then only surgery - cutting, or dissecting synechia remains. In fact, it's not as scary as it seems at first glance. This procedure lasts only a few seconds, and the child does not even have time to understand what they did to him. The main thing is it does not hurt! The procedure is carried out by a pediatric gynecologist, after which prophylactic treatment with the same ointments and decoctions (or flushing with furatsilin) is prescribed.
