What Is Ovulation For Women?

Every month, every woman has an ovulation process, which is an integral part of the menstrual cycle. Normally the menstrual cycle lasts up to 28 days, and in some cases 35-45 days (this is the so-called period of ovulation), and can begin at the age of 11 to 15 years, will end at 45-55 years. The menstrual cycle regulates the hypothalamus, which is located in the diencephalon, or rather in its middle part, and secrete two kinds of hormone: luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone. The beginning of the cycle is considered to be the period in which menstruation occurs, that is, ideally from 1 to 3-5 days, then on the 13-14 day the onset of ovulation occurs.

What is ovulation? Ovulation is the process of rupturing the mature follicle and the emergence of a mature oocyte or oocyte of the second order. In the ovarian follicles, hormones are produced that promote the growth and maturation of the follicle, and sometimes several follicles that contain eggs within them. After the rupture of the ripened follicle, the egg that emerges from it enters the abdominal cavity, and then migrates to the fallopian tube or fallopian tube. The process of maturation of the follicle and the release of the egg, and called ovulation.

A major role is played by sex hormones, estrogens and progesterone, which promote the implantation of a fertilized egg, keep the pregnancy and prepare for childbirth. The ripening follicle secretes estrogens, and the yellow body that forms at the site of its rupture is progesterone.

The process of ovulation and what ovulation is described in many sources. In order to understand how complicated this process is, it is necessary to have at least the slightest idea about the anatomy and physiology of female genital organs. Mostly, the process of ovulation occurs in the ovaries. This paired organ, which is located on both sides of the uterus, they form female sex cells - eggs, they accumulate in the ovaries, even during intrauterine development. But before puberty, eggs are not mature, that is, not ready for fertilization. And when the menstrual cycle comes, only one survives and ripens from a multitude of ovules. The menstrual cycle consists of two phases, in the first phase, the endometrium is restored in the uterus, the glands grow, the mucosa itself thickens, secretion of mucous secretions occurs, the cervical canal is opened. The entire first phase is accompanied by the influence of estrogens. The second phase is characterized by the fact that the mucous membrane of the uterus, on the contrary, stops growing, and becomes very loose. If the egg is impregnated, then it is attached to the wall of the uterus with the help of mucus, which is produced in her glands. But during this phase, the glands no longer secrete mucus, and the cervical canal closes. And if fertilization has not occurred, the yellow body dies, and the functional layer begins to tear away, menstruation occurs, the beginning of a new cycle.

The timing of ovulation in each woman may be different, we must remember that between the maturation of the egg and its release from the follicle passes approximately about 36-48 hours, then the egg moves along the fallopian tube to the uterus.

After the study, you can clearly imagine what ovulation is and how it occurs in the female body. Many women can not become pregnant for various reasons, some of them are hormonal disorders of the genital area, such as a lack of progesterone. In this case, special hormone preparations of progesterone are prescribed, drugs that promote the normal development of ovulation for successful conception and pregnancy. In addition to this, it is very important to monitor your ovulatory period, to measure the basal body temperature, to undergo ultrasound examinations to determine the maturation of the follicle and the exit of a mature egg ready for fertilization. In such cases, it is simply necessary to know what ovulation is and strictly not to be protected during this period and, if conception has occurred, to maintain a healthy normal pregnancy. To date, to help young parents there are tests to determine ovulation, which can be purchased at any pharmacy in your city.
