After that, they need to be poured with vinegar. To make it, you need to take a liter of water and add 50 ml of essence. You will get a 4% solution. Pumpkin in it must be kept for 2 hours. This will make the pieces slightly transparent and sourish. After this procedure, the solution merges, and the pumpkin is brewed in syrup. It is prepared as follows: 400 grams of sugar are dissolved in a liter of water, add cinnamon and cloves. Pumpkin is kept on the fire for 15 minutes, then spread over sterilized jars and tighten with lids.

Prepare the pumpkin jam. You will need:

  • Pumpkin in the amount of 800 grams;
  • Sugar in the amount of 800 grams;
  • Apples in the amount of 400 grams;
  • One lemon and an orange;
  • Cinnamon - 1 stick.

When we prepare dishes from a pumpkin, the vegetable should be prepared first. It should be removed from the skin, cut in half, to extract the seeds. Pulp grate, preferably in shallow, so the jam will be more gentle and airy. Also you can cut the pumpkin into pieces.

Apples for jam are recommended to take a solid variety, sweet and sour taste. They are washed, cleaned, cut and removed. The fruit is either tindered on a large grater, or cut into pieces. Do not forget to drizzle the sliced apples with lemon juice, otherwise they will quickly darken.

While the pumpkin insists, prepare citrus fruits. Pour the lemon and orange with boiling water. You do not need to cut them. Hold fruit in water for 15 minutes. This will rid their skin of bitterness. After that, peel the fruit. Cut the flesh, and grate the zest on a grater or chop it in a blender.

Once the pumpkin and apples have given juice, throw citrus fruits and their zest into a container. Mix everything, pour in a small amount of water and cook on the stove. The fire must be moderate. Bring the jam to a boil, then continue cooking at the lowest heat for an hour. At the end of cooking, put a cinnamon stick and remove the pan from the fire.
