Mignon's cap - fashionable and fun

A huge popularity of the cartoon "The Ugly I" and all its sequels brought lovely and slightly crazy characters. The most interesting and attractive are the followers of the "evil" genius, the numerous assistants of the protagonist. Many craftsmen from all over the world attracted an unusual idea, and a so-called minion cap appeared. A bright yellow headdress is adored by children and many bold adults, inclined to experiment with their wardrobe.

Preparation for work

The minion's cap can be with one or two eyes, like cartoon characters. Due to the last show appeared purple "crazy" models with a fluffy top. It is made from "Grass" yarn, but they are knit all in the same pattern. In order for the minion's cap to come up to an adult, you just need to use the standard scheme for a tight headgear. Also, choose slightly stretchable thread and not the thinnest hook. The usual "two-eyed" cap of the minion, the scheme of which is given in this article, assumes knowledge of the basic techniques of knitting, but it refers to the simplest models.

Select thread and hook

For a cap designed for a head circumference of 52-54 cm, very little thread will be required. It is easy enough to knit from inexpensive and widespread Baby yarn, sold in coats of 50 grams. However, you can use any other available threads, the composition of which would roughly correspond to the following: 25% of natural wool, cotton or even silk and 75% of conventional acrylic. This ratio will not let you worry that the product will "sit down" after the first wash or it will crumble. The model "Mignon's cap" assumes the use of 50 g of bright yellow threads, as well as the remnants of brown, blue, black and white tones to create the eyes. It will be good if all the threads are of the same quality and one firm. Hook for Baby Yarn is suitable for 2,2-2,5.

Mignon's Cap: Knitting Pattern

The bottom of the cap is knitted with yellow threads according to the simplest scheme with additions. In a ring of six air loops, two hinges are sewed together. Then in each next row, you need to make uniform increases: one column without a crochet (SbH), then two SbNs in one loop. In the next row 2 SbN, after which the next increase of RLS in one loop. Thus, in each successive series, RLS will be added to every 2-3-4-5th ... loop.

So, we knit 10 rows of bottom with additions, and to make the minion's head bend and take the desired shape, we do not need to add from the 11th row. The 13th and 14th rows are tied in black - this will be the basis for future points. Further, up to the 23rd row, yellow yarn is used, and the edge of the headgear is tied with ordinary posts without a crochet in a blue tone. You can tie small ears, but in the classical model there are none.

To make the eyes, you need to tie two identical parts according to the bottom pattern and the crochet is thinner. You need to start with a black color that will be a pupil, then go to the brown iris and finish with white. To glasses looked finished, on the edge of them tie with gray thread (to create a frame). Finished eyes are sewn to the cap at the level of a black strip, embroider a smile, and everything - the work is ready.
