Land Cruiser 105 - the next restyling from Toyota
Land Cruiser 105 - one of the modifications of the legendary car Toyota Land Cruiser, popularly called "corn" because of the consonance of words. It was issued since 1998.
Differences from previous variations
Externally, this modification is not much different from the previous ones - this was the idea of designers. They sought to maintain a recognizable appearance, while increasing the compliance of the car philosophy of this line, the essence of which is the superiority of simplicity over luxury.
The interior of the Land Cruiser 105 has changed quite significantly. Inside the car has become a little longer and now looks more strict and modern.
On the steering wheel, AKP handle and front panel there were wooden elements, and on the center console - metal and carbon inserts. At the same time, the developers tried to keep the overall stylistics of the model as much as possible.
Domestic buyers are waiting for a small, but still pleasant, surprise: the car's navigation system is now adapted to Russian roads.
Comfort in the Land Cruiser 105 remained at the same level, because despite the many changes, it's still an SUV. Salon is designed for people of medium height, so the basketball players in such a car will be a little uncomfortable. The second row of seats is designed for two passengers. There is also a third row of seats, but sitting there is not as comfortable as in the first two.
In general, the main focus of the Japanese did not on convenience, but on reliability, durability and strength - and they succeeded.
The first equipment
The car is equipped with a new engine, the volume of which is 4.5 liters. Its characteristics have become much better than those of previous engines - the power increased by forty percent (235 horsepower), and the torque - by fifty (615 Nm). It offers a six-speed automatic transmission.
The combination of these two power units allows to accelerate the Toyota Land Cruiser 105 to two hundred and ten kilometers per hour, and acceleration from zero to one hundred is over 8.3 seconds.
The second equipment
In this version, another flagship motor with a volume of 4.7 liters was updated - its power increased to two hundred and eighty-eight horsepower, and fuel consumption also decreased. To it the automatic box with five transfers is offered. However, the change of gear in it occurs with a slight delay, which is especially noticeable in the sports mode.
The car does not behave very well in corners - it is quite inert and reacts poorly to steering. But on the straight track, everything is fine. The suspension is very smooth, and the noise insulation is simply excellent: even at high speeds the motor is not audible.
Very qualitatively performed and brakes, which are equipped with an adaptive system for self-recognition of quality and type of coverage.
Technologies
All described features are designed for improved off-road performance. But that is not all! Land Cruiser 105 is equipped with automatically adjustable stabilizers of lateral stability, which improve its patency.
In addition, there is a new system, which is a kind of cruise control. It allows the car to move at "pedestrian" speeds - one, three or five kilometers per hour. It can also monitor engine power and, if necessary, brakes the towing wheel. Thus, the driver can only steer.
