- High driver's seat and high ceiling in the cabin, like a minibus;

- comfort and convenience, like a sedan;

- availability (not always, but as a rule) of the all-wheel drive, which allows to overcome light off-road and bad road;

- Modern and stylish design.

Already a simple enumeration of the design features inherent in this car, allows us to understand what a crossover is. In fact, it is a city car that provides its owner with the opportunity to move comfortably in a variety of conditions, both urban traffic, and along the road, as well as in light off-road conditions. Such a vehicle has a capacious luggage compartment, it can transport several passengers with the necessary comfort and security level.

However, any cars, except merits, have drawbacks. In relation to the crossover, the following can be noted:

- its operation is more expensive than a conventional car;

- The center of gravity of the crossover is high, which leads to a toughness in the corners;

- the stopping distance is somewhat increased due to increased weight;

- maneuvering in the flow is difficult due to large dimensions.

Despite some disadvantages of crossovers, their popularity is constantly growing, and more and more such cars fill the streets of our cities. Accordingly, new and new models of machines are emerging and being modernized. And as a result - an attempt to determine the best crossover. There are many magazines and other auto-editions in which the car is given its own estimates, and each publication has its own choice of such a crossover. However, this does not mean that the car chosen by them is really the best.

Another, no less popular, is an attempt to determine the most economical crossover. And this occupation can be considered hopeless. It's not that cars do not pass the necessary checks. The problem will be different. The figures obtained on tests are not always, or rather, rarely when repeated in real operating conditions.

Such conditions can be repeated in real operation, and for an unskilled consumer, it is often impossible. Actual data on consumption and the cost of operating costs will be higher than those promised by the manufacturer.

Despite such possible differences of reality with the results of tests and tests, they do not in any way influence the understanding of what a crossover is. In short, it can be described as a universal city car, which has a certain ability to move outside the city on roads of poor quality.
