Vladimir Bogomolov, "Zosia": a summary

"We need very strong feelings, pure, kind, and above all between a man and a woman ..." I. Bogomolov once said. "Zosia" (a brief summary is given below) is a story about this. The main character remembers the meeting with the girl who awakened in him bright, sincere feelings.

In the rear of Bialystok

The action takes place during the war in Poland. The remnants of the battalion were unexpectedly sent from the front line to the village of Novy Dvur. It was assumed that soon replenishment would arrive, but for now the soldiers were given time for rest. Acting battalion commander at the time was Victor Baikov, and the chief of staff - the hero of the story, he is a narrator. Recently, both companies had only companies, and now it was necessary to organize the free time of soldiers to maintain discipline and combat readiness, notes Bogomolov in the introduction.

"Zosia" (a short story you read) continues with the description of the July morning. The head of state, who had slept for two days, had breakfast, took Yesenin's volume and went to the river. There, for the first time in three weeks, washed and washed. Then, waiting for the clothes to dry, he began to recite his favorite poems with pleasure. Suddenly he felt that someone was watching him. Behind the trees stood a girl with a good figure, which immediately disappeared. The hero was uncomfortable and hurriedly put on the trousers. He caught himself thinking that he wanted to see the stranger again, but she did not appear any more.

The arrival of the brigade commander

The summary of the story "Zosia" Bogomolov continues with the description of the meeting with Lieutenant-Colonel Antonov. I heard the noise of the car in which the brigade commander was sitting. He immediately remembered that Vitka and the sentry were still asleep, therefore, immediately dressed, rushed to the village, hoping to catch up before Antonov. But he met the young man in the courtyard. A battalion commander appeared, asleep and dressed in a different shape. The lieutenant colonel was indignant for a long time: the authorities are asleep or reading poetry, there is no guard, the soldiers are on their own. In addition, there was no plan of action in case of an attack by the enemy and other papers - they had to be prepared by the commander-in-chief. Vitka looked reproachfully at his assistant, but did not excuse himself. And Antonov ordered to fix everything in an hour and left. Thus began the first day of rest of the battalion in a work written by Bogomolov ("Zosia"). The brief content of the meeting with Antonov can be supplemented by the fact that ten minutes later the chief of staff tried to sort out the records. And Vitka, after reading the sentry, went to the unit.

Dinner with Mrs. Julia

The battalion commander returned around noon, cheerful and energetic. He said that for the soldiers they had cooked a lovely dinner, and offered to cook ravioli. Soon, the orderly Semyonov obtained meat and flour, and Vitka met the hostess of the courtyard where they were standing-Mrs. Julia. Her daughter, Zosia - that was the name of a stranger - was spinning in the courtyard, attracting the attention of the hero.

The dinner turned out well, notes Ivan Bogomolov. Zosia (a brief description does not give a detailed description of what is happening) with Semenov and Vitka nalepili pelmeni. Pani Julia cut salads. And her relative brought Bamber. I came last. At dinner they talked about the life of the Poles under the Germans, they drank for their early release. Stefan, who served in Russia, was interested in the situation in the country - so you can convey a brief summary of the story.

Zosia (Bogomolov makes her the central character of the events) sat opposite the chief of staff. He, still young and modest by nature, was afraid to look at her. However, the hops did their job, and at some point the hero decided to talk to her and even began to read poetry. For a bush of boldness he drank another glass of moonshine, after which he instantly became intoxicated, fell off the porch in the street and scratched his face. In the end, he lay down in the hay and fell asleep. This ends the description of the unfortunate for the hero of the day Bogomolov Ivan.

"Zosia": a brief summary of subsequent events

In the morning the chief of staff again sat down for the documents and worked all day, interrupting only for lunch and short conversations with Vitka. For several hours he filled the funeral, again experiencing the death of his comrades. Sometimes Zosia appeared, but the young man was ashamed to look at her. And in the evening, when from the hut of Pani Julia began to hear voices and singing to the guitar, he decided to stay alone and not meet a proud girl. And she did not leave it out of his head, forcing to feel a tight feeling in his chest. The accordion played, which attracted the hero to the house of the Pani. Unable to withstand, he went to the hut, determined to invite Zosia to dance. But the young man was disappointed. The smiling girl already danced with Vitka, and he told her something funny.

The hero came back and could not sleep, for he felt unhappy. "She does not care about me, and tomorrow she will forget about our acquaintance," he thought. And in the morning I found out that the girl had broken the guitar about Vitka when he wanted to kiss her. Thus ends the story of the second day in Novy Dvur Mantis.

"Zosia": a summary of the farewell scene

On the third day came an order to go to the front. They curtailed quickly. Vitka walked about glumly and formidably. The commander of the commander-in-chief was sent off. He kept on wasting time, hoping for the last time to see Zosia running away somewhere. It appeared when it was already impossible to wait. The girl approached the hero, handed him the letter, then hugged and kissed him. In the envelope of the Chief of Staff I found a photograph of Zosi with a confession of love.

Years passed, but the hero could not forget the Polish girl, whom he had known for three days - finishes the work of Bogomolov. Zosia (the short content of the story you read) was left for the already matured man a symbol of something important and unique, that because of indecision he missed in his life.
