How participles are emphasized. The syntactic role of participles.

The school program involves the study of participles in the sixth or seventh grade (depending on the author of the educational and methodical complex). It is believed that this is the most mysterious part of the speech in Russian. About what this "thing", as well as the sacraments are emphasized, we'll talk in more detail.

What it is?

Since the existence of the sacraments and to this day, linguistic scholars have argued about its place in the Russian language. Opinions are divided: some believe that this is a verbal form, others say that it has a right to exist among independent parts of speech. On the one hand, indeed, the participle is formed from the verb and can be called only its derivative. But then what about verbal adjectives? They also descended from him, but nevertheless no one doubts their independence.

If we consider this question from a different angle, then we can safely say that the sacrament has a number of special morphological features, although borrowed from the same verb and adjective, and then it is an independent part of speech.

You can argue endlessly. Including how the sacraments are emphasized. One thing only is known: it is a double-edged sword. Both statements will be correct in relation to the sacrament.

Solitary Communion

Many are asking how the participles are emphasized. Especially if it is single, not in the turnover. If we recall that it takes the external form from the adjective (and even answers the question "what?"), It is not difficult to guess that the sacrament participates in it from the syntactic function.

Thus, it, like the name of the adjective, can act in different roles:

  • Definition. And this is the most common function of the sacrament.

For example: The attracting smell of food came from our kitchen. The actual participle "beckoning" depends on the word "smell", and therefore answers the question "what?" And is a definition and underscored by a wavy line.

  • Predicate. Often, it can enter into its composition, and then performs a different role.

For example: The army was scattered all over the field. In this sentence, the short form of the participle is part of the predicate and it should be emphasized by two dashes.

  • Subject. Not so often, but still we can observe this part of the speech in this role.

For example: Those present were silent at the meeting. The true participle acted here as one of the main members - the subject. It is necessary to emphasize one feature.

Participial

We examined all the basic syntactic functions of a single participle. And if he had dependent words? Then find out how the participles are emphasized when they are part of the turnover.

There are only two options. Both of them depend on the location of the defining word, which controls the participial turnover.

  • If the main word is at the beginning.

In this case, the involved turn that goes after it is allocated (necessarily) with commas and is emphasized by an entirely long wavy line.

The victory won by our team was welcome.

  • The word is determined after the turn.

And in such a sentence punctuation marks are not needed, and we will emphasize every word that comes into it individually.

Now we have learned how the participles in the sentence are emphasized, if it is part of the participial turnover.

Conclusion

The Russian language is very diverse in all its manifestations, and the communion is not an exception. Being one of the most controversial parts of speech, it forces us again and again to refer to the handbooks for the necessary information. Knowing the norms and rules of syntax, we emphasize the sacrament correctly, avoiding mistakes.
