Cabbage per day: a recipe for cooking

Did you know that salted cabbage is one of the most common dishes in the world? This is because this vegetable is one of the cheapest, easy to prepare and very healthy. In this case, some recipes are performed in a very short time and do not require any special skills. You do not even need an additional source of heat, and you can cook delicious pickles in any room.

Below is a recipe for daily cabbage in pieces, which also uses carrots. So, you will need the following ingredients:

- salt;
- cabbage;
- large capacity of non-reactive material;
- a plate (necessarily flat form);
- Any clean heavy object (a plastic bottle of two liters volume, filled with water, perfectly suited).

Preparation

Such a daily cabbage (a universal recipe) requires about 2.5-3 tablespoons of salt for every 2.5 kilograms. First of all, you have to cut the vegetables in small pieces. In this example, red cabbage is used, but you can take the familiar white.

Then you must sterilize the bucket or other selected container. This is done by treatment with boiling water and an antimicrobial detergent. To do this, use rubber gloves and rinse the container thoroughly.

To make a daily cabbage (one-day recipe) is ready in a short time, you should pour a small amount of salt on the bottom of the above capacity. Then pour a layer of chopped vegetables, distribute evenly. Then again add a small layer of salt and continue to alternate in the same way until you use all the ingredients. After this, carefully mix everything with your hands and mash.

Start pressing the contents of the container to the bottom. Try to pack cabbage as tightly and evenly as possible. As you can see, juice will quickly emerge, which must cover all the contents.

Squeeze a clean plate from above, and then place on it a water-filled plastic bottle (two liters capacity). You can use other improvised items as a press - for example, a small pot filled with stones or bricks, iron iron, sports weight and so on. After the load is tightly installed, wrap the container with a towel (to prevent dust and insects from getting into it) and tie it up for additional protection.

The next day cabbage daily, the recipe of which is very simple, can already be ready for use. However, you can leave it indoors to be salted more intensively.

If you see foam on the surface of salted cabbage, do not be afraid of it. It appears as a result of the interaction between microorganisms during fermentation. If you decide to leave the vegetables for further prosolki, make sure that the level of liquid was higher than the level of cabbage. If the water level does not rise higher, you can add a little brine (prepared from one tablespoon of sea salt to two glasses of water).

Fold the prepared pickles in a glass jar and store in the refrigerator. Similarly, daily cabbage with beets can be prepared (the recipe is completely identical, only carrots are replaced with beets).
