An easy way to keep the berry for the winter: lingonberry in its own juice

Cowberry in its own juice is a great way to prepare the most useful forest berries for the winter. In addition, you can make it without sugar - if you do not like sweets or just want to use the berries for cooking morsels and kissels. Of course, it will be delicious with sugar. Also, cranberries are harvested for the winter in other ways (we'll tell you how to make a simple berry supply without cooking in order to preserve the maximum amount of vitamins). Cowberry in its own juice without sugar

The workpiece is made incredibly simple: wash and pick berries, put them in jars to the top and fill with boiling water. Slightly cool, close the lids and sterilize: for large 3 liter cans you need 20 minutes, for smaller containers - 10-15 minutes.

Cowberry in own juice with granulated sugar

For cooking, you will need:

  • 1 kilogram of cranberries (accordingly, if you have more berries, increase the proportions);
  • 200 g of granulated sugar.

Rinse the berries, put them in a saucepan and send them to the oven to languish - cranberries should give juice, drain it. After broth the liquid with sugar for 10 minutes. Arrange the berries in cans, pour over the resulting juice, close the lids and sterilize. So cowberry will be perfectly preserved until spring.

Cowberry in its own juice: an unusual recipe with apples

For 1 kilogram of fresh, washed and dried berries you will need:

  • Half a kilo of fresh apples;
  • 300 g of granulated sugar;
  • 400-500 g (2 cups) of clean drinking water.

Put the berries in a saucepan, pour a specified amount of water and put on a plate. Bring to a boil and cook for 3-5 minutes. After a colander, pour the cowberry water into another saucepan, and leave the berries in a sieve. Now, fragrant, juicy apples washed, peeled from seeds and peel, cut into slices or cubes. Bring the boiled cowberry broth to the boil, place the fruit there, pour out the sugar and cook for 5-10 minutes. Then, after the specified time, lay the cowberry and cook for another 5 minutes. Done - turn off the gas, cool a bit and put the resulting compote on the banks.

Cowberry with sugar: we make provisions without cooking

Another way to keep the berry until the long winter is to cook it from her. And for him you can use not only cranberries, but also add to it citrus - lemon or orange, other berries, for example cranberries, or spices for flavor. And the preparation itself is done as follows. Take:

  • 1 kilogram of cranberries;
  • 1 kilogram of granulated sugar.

Mix the berries with sugar. Someone gives her a couple of hours to stand, and someone starts cooking right away. After cranberry mass, grind with an immersion blender or with a meat grinder, spread over sterilized jars and send for storage. You can also add a couple of sweet oranges, previously peeled from seeds and ground in a blender, or half a lemon for taste. It will be very tasty if you put a little bit of cinnamon, ground cloves or any other aromatic spice. To your health was strong and in the winter season, stir a tablespoon of billet in a glass of warm water and drink. So you will provide the body with a daily dose of vitamin C, as well as a mass of other useful substances that will support your immune system and will not give you a cold.
