White rum: with what to drink it?

To date, rum is considered to be one of the most popular and popular elite drinks. The main raw material for its production is reed molasses, which remains after the processing of sugar cane. There are three varieties of this drink: white rum (silver or light), golden rum and real black rum.

White rum: a short digression into the history

In fact, it is difficult to find out the origin of the Roma. But history knows innumerable references to such drinks. For example, it is believed that sugarcane beverages began to be produced in ancient China, and then in India. And in the notes of Marco Polo there is a note about a very tasty wine from reeds.

Nevertheless, the birthplace of the Roma is the Caribbean Islands, namely Barbados. It was there, in the 17th century, that for the first time it was noticed that reed molasses began to wander, and if then to give it to distillation, it is possible to get rid of impurities and make the drink more saturated. Then the rum was stored for some time in oak barrels.

Both black and light rum are considered elite drinks, and their taste primarily depends on the manufacturing technology and degree of aging. But before you get acquainted with such drinks closer, you need to understand what they eat.

What to eat rum?

In fact, it is believed that there is no need to eat rum. Nevertheless, the rules of its use directly depend on the variety of the drink.

For example, white rum is rarely drunk in pure form. Most often it becomes a component of a wide variety of cocktails.

Golden rum is also used in the preparation of cocktails, but not only. This kind of drink can well replace table wine for dinner or dinner. In addition, it is perfectly combined with desserts and fruits. Light rum can be diluted with soda, lemonade, coconut milk, lemon juice.

Dark rum is perfectly combined with a cup of good coffee and an expensive cigar. And eat it better exotic fruits - papaya and pineapple. If you do not have such products, then a more familiar snack, such as cherry, melon or sweet orange, will do. The only requirement is to pre-sprinkle fruit with cinnamon, which only emphasizes the taste and aroma of the drink. In addition, dark rum is used for making cocktails, including all known grog and punch.

White rum and recipes for delicious cocktails

White rum is a colorless drink with a weak pleasant aroma of caramel. Typically, the taste of the drink is pleasant and slightly sweet. White rum is prepared by distilling cane molasses. Then it is carefully filtered out (which explains the lack of color) and is kept in casks of light ash for a year (this makes the taste softer).

As already mentioned, this drink is rarely drunk in its pure form, but experienced bartenders very often use it in a variety of cocktails. Here are the recipes of some of them.

The Pina Colada cocktail . A fairly well-known drink with a pleasant taste and aroma. There are many interpretations of this recipe, but this is the easiest way to prepare a drink. To make 200 ml of cocktail you will need 100 ml of pineapple juice, 50 ml of white rum and the same amount of Malibu liquor (by the way, it also has rum and coconut milk). Mix all the ingredients in a shaker, then pour into a glass, decorating it with a slice of pineapple.

Cocktail "Mansard". To make a drink you need to mix in a shaker half of egg yolk, 100 ml of white rum, 100 ml of cranberry juice, 20 ml of sugar syrup and lemon juice. Serve chilled.

In fact, there are dozens of recipes for delicious cocktails containing white rum. This is a wonderful drink that should be in the menu of each bar.
