What are the categories of driver's license?

Everyone who lives in a modern metropolis knows that a driver's license is necessary for driving a vehicle . However, for different vehicles, different categories of driver's licenses are required . In addition, the driver has the right to operate only the vehicle, the category of which is indicated in the certificate.

There are the following categories of driving licenses:

1. Category "A" is indicated if you are allowed to operate mototransport vehicles, for example, motorcycles. There are also certain limitations. For example, at the time of the exam the trainee must be at least 16 years old. At the same time, persons who have reached the age of 14 are allowed to study. Another feature of the category "A": it is not required to pass the exam in the conditions of city roads. It is necessary to correctly fulfill the following standards: acceleration, slow motion, braking, snake and eight. All of them are performed on the training area.

2. Category "B" gives the right to operate cars, the number of passenger seats in which - no more than eight. In addition, this category allows you to drive trucks with a maximum mass of not more than 3.5 tons, minibuses, and also cars with a trailer, the carrying capacity of which is less than 750 kg. Category "B" does not allow you to manage vehicles from category "A".

To obtain this category of driving license, you must take a special course in a driving school. The program includes a theoretical and, of course, a practical training course, they end with an exam. First the trainee must confirm the theoretical knowledge, then show the acquired practical skills on the site and in the city.

3. Category "C" is necessary for the management of large heavy lorries weighing not less than 3.5 tons, and trucks with a trailer with a maximum mass of less than 750 kg. This category does not allow the driver to operate light trucks and so-called "cars".

4. Category "D" entitles the management of all kinds of buses without restrictions on the maximum weight, as well as buses equipped with a trailer. A feature of this category of driver's license is that the driver is responsible for a lot of human lives right away. So, for its reception it is required to pass the strengthened course of safety.

5. Category "E" is a supplement. Its feature is that it allows you to drive cars of the categories "B", "C" and "D", which are equipped with a trailer with a maximum mass exceeding the previously agreed 750 kilograms.

In this case, the category "E" can be opened for any one of the previously described categories or for several. Upon receipt of this authorization, in the column "special notes" on the driver's license, it is noted for which of the categories this permission is granted. For example, if you have rights with categories "B", "C" and "E" and an "E" for "B", then you are not allowed to drive heavy trucks with a heavy trailer.
