Wheel balancing is an important part of maintenance

In the modern world there are few drivers who would not have heard about what balancing wheels. This procedure is considered one of the most important in terms of maintenance of the car. The quality of its conduct has a direct impact on traffic safety, as well as on the durability of the steering and front suspension components. The imbalance can be easily noticed, as there are vibrations and noises while driving on the road. However, an accurate check must be carried out using special devices and stands. Ideally, wheel balancing should be carried out after passing two or three thousand kilometers. When a seasonal rubber change is carried out, this procedure is also required.

Thus, the correct balancing of the wheels becomes the guarantee of reliable operation of the vehicle as a whole. The balance helps to define a special machine, which is practically at every tire station. The result of the adjustment works largely depends on the level of adjustment of the machine itself. The indicator of serviceability can be the correspondence of the speed of rotation to the established norms. It should also be taken into account that the machine should be launched more than once to accurately determine the imbalance.

The role played by balancing wheels, in fact, can not be overemphasized. The cause of the imbalance is, first of all, that during the punching or casting of the disk the metal is distributed unevenly, therefore a weighted place is created, causing a run out. In addition, the imbalance is caused directly by the bus itself, which has a rather intricate device and considerable weight. In this connection, at the final stage, during the assembly of the wheels, a force is detected and eliminated, which prevents normal rotation.

As a rule, static and dynamic wheel balancing is performed. The first option provides for a uniform distribution of weight relative to its own axis of rotation. If the static balance is disturbed, the wheel will hit hard enough against the road surface, which will subsequently lead to wear of the suspension parts. Therefore, this service is popular in car-care centers. As for the dynamic balance, it is considered ideal when the weight relative to the plane of rotation of the wheel is evenly distributed. The negative impact of this phenomenon is most noticeable on wide wheels.

Of course, the imbalance of the rear wheels will be less noticeable, but they must also be balanced. Otherwise, after a short period of time, you may notice an uneven wear of the rubber. Nowadays an automatic method is especially popular, where equilibrium is achieved by means of fine sand, special granules or some kind of powder. Here an important role is played by the centrifugal force of the wheel interacting directly with the suspension. From all of the above, it becomes clear why balancing of the wheels is necessary and what consequences can lead to its absence.
