Electric jig saw is a surprisingly popular tool. Especially to taste, he came to home masters, who are unlikely to miss the chance to do something with their own hands. With its help you can easily cut almost any material, the need for processing which can occur at home.

But the productivity and accuracy of the cut depends on the saw for the electric jigsaw, the choice of which depends a lot. Particular attention should be paid to the marking when buying.

What are they like?

Between them, they differ in shape and size, in the ways of sharpening and wiring of the teeth, as well as with the materials from which they are made. Choosing saws for jigsaws, it is necessary to take into account the thickness of the processed material. There are no complications here: its length should be greater than the thickness, and the amplitude of its movements during the saw should also be taken into account.

Teeth Options

It is easy to determine the purpose of the saw blade by simply looking at its teeth. For example, saws for electric jigsaws in wood have a step from 2.5 to 4 millimeters. If this figure is equal to 1-2 millimeters, then before you for sure a tool designed for cutting metal.

If we talk about saws that are adapted for "cutting" ceramics and similar materials, then there are no teeth at all on their surfaces, as they are replaced by spraying from abrasive.

If you are confused by the unusual wavy form of the instrument, then do not worry: it is useful when cutting soft metal.

What are they made of?

We produce saw blades for BOSCH jigsaw and similar ones of high-quality hardened steel of various grades. It is these marks and are marked by engraving on the working surface:

  • Marking "HCS" (high-carbon steel) means saws, designed for sawing all sorts of soft materials and wood. They are characterized by increased flexibility.
  • Engraving "HSS" (high-speed) features a tool designed for cutting solid metal. Characterized by low flexibility.
  • All saw blades for woodworking machines marked "BIM" are bimetallic, combining the advantages of both of the above types.
  • Hard metal tools marked "HM" can be used for cutting ceramics, tiles and similar materials.

Check shanks

It is known that the saw is fixed in a special clamp. The fact is that the clamp is designed exclusively for a certain type of shank. Jig saws of some manufacturers have a universal clamp, which accepts any saw for jigsaws. But this is a rarity, which is an exception. However, this can often be found on a tool made in China.

No matter how trite it may sound, we will remind you once again that only official dealers need to buy saws for electric jigsaws. The acquisition of a counterfeit is fraught not only with the damaged workpiece, but also with the outage of the tool, since too high loads are placed on the engine. Saving in this case is unacceptable, since post-warranty repair will cost much more.
