Variegated gaylard. Cultivation from seeds

Many flower growers choose such flowers for planting on their plots, which would look good, but at the same time they would not have to be taken care of especially. Of course, all plants in one way or another require care, but some are less whimsical, while others are too capricious. To such simple flowers in care is gaylard. Cultivation of seeds and bush separation are the main ways of breeding this plant.

Gaylardia still called smart chamomile, she really is similar to her, only here the terry inflorescences come in different shades: red, yellow, orange and even brown. Closer to the middle of the flower is dark, and on the edges light. There is both an annual and long-term gaylard. Cultivation is not too laborious, so it can often be seen on garden plots, in the rabatki and even along fences.

Inflorescences large, in diameter reach 10 cm, the bush grows in height 50-80 cm. Flowering begins in June and lasts until September. There are no special requirements to the soil, but gaylardia does not very well settle on clay sites with waterlogged soil. It easily tolerates drought, so in summer it needs only a little watering. It can be propagated by root cuttings, by seeds or by dividing a bush. A perennial plant grows up to 5 years in one place.

If the winters are very cold, and the bushes are not preserved, then the gai lardia from the seeds is grown. They can be planted in the open land in April or May, depending on the weather, and in the fall "move" the seedlings to a permanent place. If it is necessary that the plant blossom already this year, then the seeds are sown in early March in containers or a greenhouse, and in early May, the resulting sprouts are planted in the open ground, because in June the blossom must already blossom.

Cultivation from seeds is not the only way to multiply this flower. If there is already a mature adult bush, then it can be seeded, previously divided with a pruner or shovel. Transplantation is possible in both spring and early autumn, so that plants can take root. The flower, as has already been said, does not require special care, but at least once it is necessary to make fertilizing the fertilizer, which is so sensitive to gaylard.

Cultivation from seeds is possible and in any order. If a bush is already growing on the site, and the flowers that have faded, it can not be cut off, then in September, the seeds that will sprout next spring will be poured out of the dried up baskets. Such plants should be placed at a distance of 50 cm from each other. Despite the unpretentiousness to care, it looks very beautiful on flowerbeds, in mixborders and in bouquets of gaylard.

Cultivation from seeds allows you to get healthier seedlings, the flowers will be large, and the leaves will be juicy. Long-term gailardy grows every year and forms an increasingly large and spreading bush, which must be tied or seated. Before planting the plant in the hole, you need to add a bucket of manure, a couple of glasses of wood ash and water well. So it will quickly take root and grow. Gaylardia has very beautiful flowers that look great in the bouquet and do not fade for two weeks.
