Analysis of the "Homeland" Lermontov M. Yu.

The poem by M. Yu. Lermontov "Motherland" was written in early 1841, shortly before the poet's death. The work is a vivid example of the lyric poetry of the 19th century, this is the writer's reasoning about his attitude towards Russia, his people, and also the reigning regime. At the very beginning of the poem, Mikhail Yurievich sets the tone for the narrative, the reader becomes clear that the poet will not talk about love for his country, but about the oddities of these feelings.

Gravitation towards Russian nature

An analysis of Lermontov's Homeland shows that the poet deliberately created two contrasting plans to show the strangeness of his feelings. High officials only boast of their patriotism, but in fact they do not like their homeland, but their own fame, obtained in bloody battles, money, power. The poet himself eschews all these ostentatious feelings, he despises hypocrites who are ready to talk for hours about their readiness to give their lives for Russia. Mikhail Yurievich is closer to simple pictures of his native nature, he will gladly communicate with the common people, but the party will bypass the magnificent balls.

The analysis of Rodina Lermontov confirms that the poet managed to create a living poetic image of his native country, based on the people's life and Russian nature. The author's fatigue from endless wanderings, the hypocrisy of people around him, the need to pretend and hide his own thoughts is felt in the work. According to Lermontov, the homeland is a grove of birches, a country road, wooden huts, simple peasants with their troubles and joys.

Development of the theme of the motherland

The poem traces the author's transition from a broader perspective to a more narrow one. Analysis of the "Homeland" Lermontov shows that first the poet describes the vast Russia (forests, steppes, rivers, country roads), in the second half of the work he depicts a concrete picture. Appear details of the landscape, close to the observer, and they are directly related to the people's way of life. An image of a birch grove, a cart, a log hut looms before the reader. In the finale there is a description of a simple village holiday with songs and dances of drunk peasants.

Nature - the central image in the poem

An analysis of Lermontov's "Homeland" shows that the author did not at all attempt to depict "low nature", on the contrary, he embellished it. Contemporaries and future generations appreciated the creativity of Mikhail Yurievich. He, like no one else, was able to accurately recreate a reliable and simple device of peaceful rural life. The poet was able to find the right words and as if the artist had painted a picture of his native country.

The poem belongs to the genre of lyrical meditations - it shows and analysis. "Motherland" (Lermontov became the ancestor of the tradition of using the images of nature and the countryside in describing Russia) was highly praised by Leo Tolstoy and Belinsky. This poem clearly shows all the elements that make up life. Mikhail Yurievich succeeded in so reliably portraying the existence of most of his homeland only because he was well acquainted with the inner world of a simple Russian man.
