Viola. Planting and caring for the plant.

Pansies, Vittrock's Viola or just Viola are flowers, the cultivation of which pleases the person with both simplicity and beauty. Their motley variety of colors have been seen and know by everyone. Grow this wonderful flower in your garden, vase or on the flower bed quite simply. And if you want to diversify your flower garden, add a touch of lightness, color, then the viola will help you. Planting and caring for the sprouts do not require special skills, everything is elementary simply.

Features that are better to consider

For a happy life of this plant you need a little. The flower of the viola does not like direct sunlight. If you plant it in an open lighted space, it will open the petals as much as possible and show its beauty, but it will quickly lose its decorative appearance. It is recommended that the pansies be planted in a fertile and sufficiently moist soil. It is best to start planting in early spring, so that the seedlings are already strengthened in a few months, and it could be transferred to the garden. Flowers will better bear the July heat, if you surround them with some other plants. There is a second option: the viola grows well under bushes, because there will be a shadow necessary for it, and the petals will retain brightness.

Reproduction

These flowers multiply by seeds. Seeds of pansies are hidden in a box, but it is almost impossible to collect them. When the box ripens, it shoots its contents in different directions. That's how the viola multiplies. Planting and care is much easier, but if you still want to collect seeds, experts propose to put on the boxes gauze pouches, so that when sleeping, the seeds do not scatter. There is also a second way to get a new plant. If your flowers grow under the bushes, then after the seeds have fallen off, you will see tiny sprouts of new pansies. Very carefully excavate these germinating seeds and transplant to a permanent place, for example, on a flower bed. Then it turns out that you only grow seedlings on the flowerbed, and when it loses its ornamentality, you will remove these plants. By this time, you will already have seeds from which a new viola will grow.

Planting and care

Pansies bloom in the second year after sowing, so it is very convenient when a part of the flowers multiplies "self-sowing". But regardless of where and how they will bloom, these biennial plants require regular watering and top dressing. It is best to use a complex mineral fertilizer, which already includes nitrogen, potassium, and microelements. For more rapid growth of seedlings, you can use ammonium nitrate or superphosphate fertilizer. Watch the bush during flowering, remove the flowers that have already faded in time: they will only spoil the appearance of the flower bed and lead to the premature withering of other flowers.

Use in landscape design

Landscape designers also like to use for their work such a beautiful flower, like viola. Planting and caring for it, as you have already understood, are really simple, but its beauty, mottled petals of various shades, an interesting form will be enjoyed by any flowerbed or rock garden.
