UAZ 3163 is the "PATRIOT"

Probably, this is the only car in Russia (and earlier in the Soviet Union), which was assembled for the defense industry. True, among the customers were not only military, but also law enforcement agencies and other law enforcement agencies. The full name of the "police funnel" was UAZ 469. The union has long been gone, the police too, and the structure that received its rights continues to use UAZs. Only now it's not 469, but UAZ 3163, better known as "Patriot".

"Patriot" - the next after the 469 development of the Ulyanovsk plant. This is a car with all-wheel drive, a ground clearance of 210 mm and with 5 passenger seats, including the driver (in the base configuration), created by domestic designers for Russian realities. Like any SUV, the car has a 5-speed mechanics and some others, peculiar only to these types of features.

Thanks to the long work for the defense industry, the Patriot has become a great convenient car that can be operated both on city roads and in the conditions of total Russian off-road: drive to all 4 wheels, stylish design, recent restyling. The first serial UAZ 3163 moved off the assembly line of the plant in 2005. According to official information, in 2015 the production of "Patriot" was sharply reduced in order to start the release of the model 3170 in 2016. Interior

Those who were sitting in the old 469 UAZ may have a new design unaccustomed to. Like all modern cars, the Patriot has its own computer, a modern audio system with MP3 support and a USB connection. Also, UAZ 3163 equipped with its own parktronic with a rear-view camera and, of course, a completely new instrument panel. Among the options you can mention the temperature sensor "overboard".

Interesting is the function of tilting the front seats: the seats are adjusted so that in the tilted position you get two berths, and you can spend the night right in the car.

However, the question arises about the headrests, but it is decided by each owner himself: in the kit there are not, probably, in connection with the function of tilting. A separate idea was the control knobs for the backs of the armchairs: the usual levers, as in "Ikarus", instead of the standard hard handles for these seats. As a result, the backrest now reclines smoothly, without steps.

In the first "Patriots" the rear row of armchairs was not for beauty: even tall people were comfortable. But after restyling, the rear seats moved back, and now there is even more room. Perhaps in vain, but with the change from the seats removed the middle armrest and cup holder, but there was a second stove, however, this offer is only for the winter kit.

Rear window lifters can now also be controlled from the driver's door handle, there is also a locking of windows.

Luggage compartment

Despite the fact that the rear seats were pushed back into the luggage compartment, you can safely immerse the entire summer dacha set, and still there will be room left. True, the appearance of the plating of the compartment from competitors is more presentable.

The back door opens now, as in the "Niva-Chevrolet", the reserve is also attached to the rear under a branded cover with the inscription "PATRIOT".

Lighting

The interior lighting can be adjusted according to the scheme of "polite light": after the door is closed, the light will go out smoothly, allowing the driver's eyes to calmly adjust to the lighting of instruments and the roadway in the dark.

As for the external headlights, it is worth noting only the LED ribbon of daytime running lights, smoothly enveloping the contour of the headlights.

And by the way, about the case. The full name of the model - UAZ 3163 "Patriot" - is now used only for in-house needs.

Outside the factory and on the car itself is written only UAZ "Patriot". A subtle hint that the new UAZ is not worse than foreign SUV cars.
