The rules for installing a gas meter in the apartment. Requirements for installing a gas meter

Measuring the amount of gas consumed can reduce the monthly costs of paying for utilities. The absence in the house or apartment of the meter obliges consumers to pay for services at a single tariff - for the amount of gas that, according to statistics, is consumed by one person for a certain period. From this article you can learn the rules for installing a gas meter in the apartment and the basic requirements for installation.

Criterias of choice

To date, counters of several types are used: membrane (diaphragm), turbine, rotary, and also vortex, so there really is something to choose from.

In Russia, most often on household gas networks install devices of membrane type. This equipment is equipped with an elastic membrane. The main advantage of these devices is reliability, simplicity of design and relatively small measurement error. Electronic meters are more accurate due to built-in monitoring sensors.

Also gas meters are divided by the amount of gas they consume in one hour. This parameter is determined by studying the technical parameters of all gas appliances located in the apartment. The consumption of the classic gas four-burner plate averages 1.56 m 3 / h, the column - 2.5 m 3 / h. Summation of total consumption will make it possible to determine the power of the required meter.

Choosing a rotary, volumetric or electronic gas meter, it is worth paying attention to the fact that the gas supply can be carried out both on the left and on the right. When buying, it is important to consider this point.

Without fail, when buying, you need to check the date of manufacture of the selected model, since the interval between verification is determined not by the installation day, namely the date of release. If more time has elapsed after the factory check than is required before the next testing, then there may be some difficulties with the service life.

Marking

The marking of the meter indicates the amount of gas consumed:

  • The devices labeled G1.6 are capable of passing and counting up to 2.5 m 3 / h.
  • G2,5 - up to 4 m 3 / hour.
  • G4 - up to 6 m 3 / hour.

There are also more powerful equipment, for example, a gas meter of the CMS G6 or G10. These devices are characterized by the same principle.

The testing interval for old equipment (SG marking) is 5 years. While a modern electronic gas meter can function for an average of 12 years.

Installation requirements

The gas meter is a rather complicated device, when installing it, some requirements must be met. A passport must be included with each meter , a document that indicates information about the device and the requirements for its installation and operation.

There are general requirements and rules for installing a gas meter in the apartment:

  • The distance from the device to the floor surface is 1600 mm.
  • The distance from the boiler or gas stove to the appliance is 800 mm.

In addition, this equipment can be installed not only indoors, but also on the street side. In the latter case, it is desirable to protect the counter from direct exposure to sunlight, strong temperature changes, moisture. Such influences can significantly reduce the operational life of the meter.

When installing individual devices in the passport, they may be indicated with additional rules for installing a gas meter in the apartment, which are applied to a particular model and differ from the general requirements.

Required documents

To install, you need the following sample list of documents:

  • Ownership of the premises where the meter is to be installed.
  • Identification.
  • Passport for the equipment.
  • If the device has not yet been purchased - passports for all gas equipment installed in the room (boiler, stove, etc.), to determine the power, load when selecting a counter.
  • Plan of living quarters, houses.

This is an exemplary list of documents, therefore, when you do decide on the installation of a gas meter, it is desirable to specify the exact list on the spot.

Installation Instructions

The rules for installing a gas meter in the apartment:

  • First of all, you need to write to the gas service statement, which indicates the place of registration, the full name of the owner, as well as the postal address of the place where you plan to install the meter. After that, you should come to the master, who will inspect your apartment or house gas equipment and tell you what counter you should buy. Sounded by the master "technical conditions" will allow to develop the project. As a rule, this type of work is performed by the gas service itself.
  • Buy the equipment in accordance with the "technical conditions" received from the master. Household accounting devices (intended for apartments or houses) differ from each other in "face value" - the amount of energy they pass per unit of time. For an apartment in which only a stove is installed, a counter that allows 2.5 m 3 of gas per hour is suitable.
  • Repeatedly contact the gas service, where an invoice will be issued, after payment of which, the master will arrive and install the metering device you purchased. After the gas meter is installed in the house, it will be necessary to issue his passport. Sometimes the mark is set by the same master, sometimes you have to apply to the gas service for this.
  • Then you need to apply to the same gas service application for sealing the meter. After this procedure, you must issue a certificate, which should be shown in a single settlement and cash center at the place of residence. Thus, you will pay for the gas supply through the new system, taking the meter from the meter yourself.

Basic installation requirements

Despite the fact that gas meters in a private house are not installed by the consumer, it is necessary to familiarize yourself with the basic requirements for installation. And besides the above rules, there are others.

  • After completing installation of the meter, it must necessarily be sealed.
  • It is important that the scheme of the gas meter not only corresponds to the installation site, but also be agreed by the experts of the gas service.
  • Installed equipment must be certified.
  • When carrying out welding operations, the gas supply in the apartment must be switched off.
  • Installation works are carried out only by certified specialists.
  • Work must be carried out in compliance with safety regulations.

Installation of gas meters is the law!

In accordance with Law No. 261-FZ "On Increasing Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving ...", adopted in 2009, gas meters should be installed in each house. And in this there is nothing bad and terrible, because we have to pay for the consumed amount, and not for the rate, which is determined by the number of registered people.

After all, in different flats and houses energy consumption is different, someone has more, and someone has less. Most owners who installed meters, felt savings on their wallet.

Article 13, item 5.1. States that the installation of gas meters (Law No. 261-FZ) should be made by owners of apartment buildings before January 1, 2015.

Cost of installation

In principle, any meter is the property of the person owning the apartment. Accordingly, the customer must refund not only the cost of the meter, but also the installation work.

There are a number of factors that can affect the overall cost. Consider these:

  • For whose money the device will be purchased.
  • The need for welding or its absence.
  • The length of communications for the output of the meter.
  • The number of devices in the apartment that consume gas (boiler, gas stove, column).

If we talk about a specific cost, the installation of a gas meter in the presence of one gas cooker will cost 4000-5000 rubles on average.
