Reproduction of azaleas by cuttings
Reproduction of azaleas is carried out during the period from spring to August. As a planting material take stem cuttings. They are germinated in a substrate with an acidic pH. Planted cuttings are covered with a glass or plastic jar and sprayed regularly. Young shoots for breeding are cut only after the flowering of the bush. Their length should be 10-15 cm. It is important to consider that the larvae shoots are absolutely inappropriate for this.
Azalea is best planted in specially bought soil, in stores, as a rule, they sell the ready-made mixture. But if there is no opportunity to purchase the soil, designed individually for this flower, you can use universal soil, it grows well all indoor plants. Photo, which shows all the information on the composition of this land, is on the reverse side of the package. This soil is filled with pots and well spills it with standing water at room temperature. Seedlings of azaleas are covered with a jar or a plastic bag and are ventilated several times a week. For this it is enough to leave them for a short time in the open air.
In 3 months after transplantation of entrenched cuttings their apexes are gently pricked, after that the plant will start to give new young shoots. The first flower buds must be removed. This will allow the plant to retain its strength. Azaleas can be blossomed from the third year of life, but before that it is fertilized. Grow an adult plant from the handle can be approximately 2-3 years. To do this, it is necessary to spend a lot of strength and patience, since there is no finer flower than azalea. You can buy it at any flower shop, but this will not guarantee that the plant will survive and adapt to the conditions of the apartment. But in azalea, grown by own hands, you can be sure.
