"Infanrix Hex" - vaccinations. Composition, reviews, instructions

At present, many parents are concerned about the quality of vaccines used in polyclinics to vaccinate children of different age groups. Increasingly, there are cases where preference is given to paid injections. The substitute for the usual DTP is the Belgian drug Infanrix Hex. Inoculations of this level practically do not cause side effects and are well tolerated by the child's body.

What is a vaccine?

"Infanrix Hexa" refers to modern multicomponent vaccines and allows you to simultaneously instill a child from several severe ailments. The advantage of such tools is their safety even for weakened children. Unlike free vaccines, they practically do not cause side effects. To achieve this result, modern manufacturing technologies helped to reduce the number of protein molecules that have a negative effect on the nervous system.

In recent years in medicine, acellular vaccines, including Infanrix and Infanrix Hexa, are gaining in popularity. Vaccinations contain a cell-free pertussis antigen, which means they are the safest for a child's body. Such vaccines are allowed to vaccinate children older than 4 years. The presence of several components in the preparation can reduce the number of injections.

Composition and form of release

The only vaccine that can immediately protect against six diseases is Infanrix Hexa. The composition of the preparation has the following:

  1. Diphtheria toxin (30 IU).
  2. Anatoxin tetanus (40 ME).
  3. Anatoxine pertussis (25 ME).
  4. Hemagglutinin filamentous (not less than 25 ME).
  5. Pertavactin (not less than 8 ME) is the cell membrane of the bacterium that causes hemophilic infection.
  6. Inactivated poliomyelitis virus type 1 (40 DU).
  7. Inactivated poliovirus type 2 (8 DU).
  8. Inactivated poliomyelitis virus type 3 (32 DU).
  9. The adsorbed antigen of the hepatitis B virus (10 ME).

The vaccine is released in the form of a suspension, which is administered intramuscularly. The package contains a syringe with a single dose of the drug (0.5 ml), prepared with isotonic solution (sodium chloride). As a preservative, 2-phenoxyethanol is used in the production process of Infanrix Hex (the instruction contains such information). According to numerous reviews, the vaccine, despite its complex composition, is much less likely to cause negative reactions of the body than with the administration of monocomponent drugs.

How does the vaccine work?

Combined vaccine allows to develop immunity against pertussis, tetanus, diphtheria, three types of poliomyelitis, hepatitis B and hemophilic infection. All of the listed diseases pose a serious threat to the health of children and can lead to serious consequences or even death. The vaccine does not provide full protection against diseases, but in case of infection the disease will proceed in mild form.

The vaccine "Infanrix Hexa" can be used for both primary immunization and for revaccination after the use of other drugs (DTP, "Pentaxim"). Vaccination of the child, produced according to a certain scheme, will allow to develop specific immunity from terrible ailments.

When is it necessary to inoculate a baby?

According to the vaccination calendar, primary immunization against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis and poliomyelitis is carried out at 3 months. If the child was not vaccinated from hepatitis B in the maternity hospital, the Infanrix Hex remedy may be used. The price of a multi-component preparation of Belgian production ranges from 1,700 to 2,100 rubles. For a single dose.

The second immunization can be carried out no earlier than 45 days, that is, 4.5 months. When the baby is six months old, it is necessary to make the third inoculation with a six-component vaccine. Revaccination is carried out at 18 months. If for any reason the child has not received the proper number of vaccinations, the immunologist should calculate the individual scheme of the drug administration and determine what is better, "Infanrix" or "Infanrix Hexa", for a specific case.

In fact, the Belgian drug is a modernized DTP vaccine, which consists of safe purified antigens of three types of ailments: pertussis, tetanus and diphtheria.

Compatibility with other vaccines

If necessary, the vaccine can be replaced, but experts advise it not to do so if the baby's organism has been well immunized. After a routine DPT vaccination, it is possible to select an imported analog with a large number of components, but it is safer at the same time. The doctor should help the parents and clarify what is better - Infanrix or Infanrix Hex. If a baby has recently been vaccinated against hepatitis B, then the complex vaccine should not contain this component, that is, for immunization, you should use Infanriks with anatoxins of 3 severe ailments or Infanrix IPV with additional inactivated poliovirus.

It has been clinically proven that modern multicomponent immunization products are better tolerated by the child's organism and can be combined with some monocomponent vaccines. But in this case, the child will have to experience stress and sustain more than one shot, protecting from 4-6 diseases (Infanrix, Infanrix Penta, Infanrix Hexa), but several (a combination of Infanricks and Hiberix, B "," Imovax Polio ").

Is it possible to revaccinate?

The Infanrix Hex vaccine can also be used to complete immunization (revaccination) after a three-time introduction of free DTP according to the vaccination schedule. If the child is constantly vaccinated with an imported drug, the last booster should be carried out with the same vaccine. Replacing the purified pertussis antigen with the "killed" component can cause a negative reaction of the immune system and lead to complications.

Infanrix Hexa: instructions for use

Before the immunization, the doctor must ensure the integrity of the package, the absence of foreign inclusions in the suspension and dry matter, check the expiration date of the drug. It is recommended to get the drug from the refrigerator a few minutes before the injection. A bottle with a hemophilic vaccine is opened immediately before the procedure and diluted with a suspension that is shaken beforehand. Then use the same syringe to inject.

Inject the injection deep into the muscle located on the middle third of the thigh. At the next immunization the injection is done in the other leg. After the procedure, the toddler must stay in the medical institution for at least 30 minutes so that the doctor can observe the reaction of the body to the drug Infanrix Hexa. Vaccinations with acellular pertussis antigen are often carried by children well.

Contraindications to immunization

If the previous vaccination caused a strong allergic reaction in the child, re-grafting from pertussis, diphtheria, tetanus, poliomyelitis and hepatitis B is not recommended. If hypersensitivity to any component in the injection is to abandon the procedure or replace the drug Infanrix Hex. The price of analogues can differ both in smaller and larger, and depends primarily on the manufacturer and the composition of the product.

It is forbidden to vaccinate if, after the previous administration of the drug, which included pertussis antigen, an encephalopathy of unknown etiology was diagnosed within a week. Such children are allowed to be vaccinated only with drugs that do not have pertussis toxoid.

It is strictly forbidden to inoculate, if the child has signs of respiratory disease, increased body temperature, with thrombocytopenia. Vaccination is postponed and with exacerbation of a chronic illness. Only after full recovery is it possible to carry out immunization with "Infanrix Hexa". Inoculations of any kind should be done only after passing a laboratory examination of blood serum (general analysis) and a thorough examination of the pediatrician.

Side effects

Before the procedure, it is necessary to familiarize yourself with possible side effects that a vaccine can cause. Most often these are local reactions that manifest themselves as a slight reddening or swelling at the injection site. Itching and rash appear much less often.

Also, parents sometimes face an increase in temperature to 38-39 ° C, the appearance of drowsiness and lethargy in the child after the introduction of the drug Infanrix Hex. The testimonies indicate that the state of the child has completely normalized within a few days. In general, such a reaction is considered quite normal and should not bother parents.

The instruction for "Infanrix Hex" (producer GlaxoSmithKline, Belgium) warns of possible fainting or loss of consciousness after the administration of the drug. Quite often there are problems in the gastrointestinal tract: loss of appetite, constipation or diarrhea. From the side of neurology, cramps are possible. In young children, abnormal crying, whims, may be observed.

How to reduce the manifestation of side effects?

In order for the child's organism to have an easier "meeting" with the components of the vaccine, it is necessary to prepare beforehand. Some doctors advise giving the baby antiallergic drugs in order to reduce the risk of an inadequate reaction to the components of the vaccine "Infanrix Hex". Parental feedback confirms that it really helps if the child is prone to allergies. Some mothers practice using Viburkol suppositories before vaccination and for several days after the manipulation. They have anti-inflammatory, analgesic and sedative effects and belong to homeopathic preparations.

For children with problems in the field of neurology, immunization is permissible only after a certain preparation. Depending on the diagnosis, medications with a diuretic, sedative, anticonvulsant effect may be prescribed.

"Infanrix Hex" - where to do?

In Moscow and other major cities, vaccination can be done in special medical centers or in the district clinic. In the first case, the drug is purchased directly in the institution, the doctor conducts a thorough examination of the child and monitors the reaction after the vaccination. There is a practice of calling an immunologist at home.

In state children's polyclinics, there is no such vaccine. Therefore, it should be purchased in advance and stored in appropriate conditions. After the procedure, the specialist must make an appropriate entry in the child's medical record and note that the vaccination was carried out with the drug Infanrix Hexa.

Where to make an inoculation in Moscow and what vaccine should be used for this, parents should decide with the immunologist physician. If there is a slightest suspicion of developing a child's ailment, immunization should be postponed for several days until the situation clears up.
