But even if their taste is not bad, the size of the petiole may be less than that of the mother tree.

Bones can be planted in summer, autumn and spring. In the latter case, stratification is necessary. It consists in maintaining the material for planting in the necessary conditions: it is important to observe the temperature and aeration modes, do not forget about the humidity. This contributes to the ripening of the stone, because it is in a state of rest and, even staying in the ground, can not germinate for years. That's why it's better not to rush to planting if you want to learn how to grow a cherry from a bone.

For this fruit tree stratification should last from 90 to 180 days, depending on the variety, so it is necessary to start the work taking into account the characteristics of the selected species. Only under such conditions there is a high probability that cultivation of cherry from the stone will be successful.

So, pre-washed material for planting should be mixed with the disinfected substrate in a ratio of 1: 4 and watered. Suitable ground is washed calcined sand, sawdust (in which there is no bark) or peat. The latter, by the way, increases the germination level, because it holds water well, gives free air access and accelerates ripening.

It is not enough to learn how to grow a cherry from a stone. In addition, you must make some effort, because after mixing the material with the substrate, the work does not end. Now it is important to ensure that the soil is always moist, and the seeds do not begin to mold.
