Fruit tree - disease prevention

Before you do planting and growing a garden, you need to learn a large number of reference materials. They will allow you to learn the features of growth and development, as well as diseases of fruit trees. There are a large number of them, and by type of pathogens they are:

  • Fungal;
  • Bacterial;
  • Virus.

In order not to collide with one of them at the initial stage of growth, it is necessary to carefully choose a nursery, where to buy seedlings of fruit trees. They are very expensive today, and the treatment of a diseased tree will cost you a round sum, so examine it carefully. Affected can be any part: leaves, roots, branches. And this means that any deviation from the ideal state should arouse suspicion. To know what to look for, consider some of the diseases.

Downy mildew

This is one of the most common problems arising from sudden changes in night and daytime temperatures. It is expressed in the appearance of spots on the upper side of the leaves. They can be from very light to yellow-brown. On the underside, grayish mold appears. If you do not take urgent measures, the young shoots will take ugly forms, which will weaken the fruit tree and lead to a backlog in development and growth.

This disease refers to the form of fungal. Harmful spores hibernate on plant remains and under favorable conditions for them begin to develop intensively. The fight against them must be carried out in a timely manner, otherwise the disease will spread to all plants.

Noticing signs of fungus on the leaves, you need to remove the affected shoots (ideally they are better burned). Do not put them in compost. The fruit tree on which they were found is treated with special chemical preparations. You can name the following: "Topaz", "Bayleton", "Topsin-M".

Spraying should be carried out at least twice, with an interval of 12-14 days. However, the treatment with chemical preparations destroys many useful insects, and it does not really reflect on the person himself. Hence, it is better to try to prevent the appearance of diseases. To do this, it is necessary to remove the fallen leaves and grass remnants in the fall, loosen the soil in the spring and not allow a large content of nitrogen fertilizers in the soil. And then the fruit tree can please you with pure and useful fruits.

Cockcomicosis

This disease also applies to fungal and is dangerous for stone fruit - cherry and sweet cherry.

The first sign of defeat is the appearance of small red dots, which gradually grow in size. On the lower part of the leaf they have a whitish pink coating - this is conidiospores, with their help the disease spreads. With the intensive development of coccomicosis, the fruit tree prematurely discards the leaves. This leads to its weakening. As a result, it can suffer even from insignificant frosts in winter. To combat pathology, it is necessary to spray with the following preparations: "Phthalane", "Zineb", copper oxychloride.

The first treatment is carried out during the opening of the leaves, the subsequent treatment after two weeks. It is also recommended to spray after harvesting. And, of course, do not forget about preventive measures in the fall. Then your garden will grow healthy and will please you with stable yields.
