Quarry brick: types, features, technical characteristics
Brick is one of the most sought-after materials, since 99% of buildings can not be built without it. To fully meet the needs of the construction market, several types of brick products are produced, designed to solve different problems. One of them is a brick. How does it differ from similar products of other types, for what purpose is it intended and what are its features? About this further.
Product Features
- Heterogeneity of texture and color;
- Oblique faces;
- Roughness;
- Chips.
Because of this, the material is not used for erection of external walls or, if it is still applied, is subjected to subsequent finishing, decoration, sheathing. But an unattractive appearance is not a special flaw - due to this shortcoming, the cost of products of a back-up type is much cheaper, which is very often the decisive factor when choosing building materials.
There are two types of ceramic stone, each of which has its own characteristics.
Hollow
Advantages of ceramic hollow stone:
- High thermal insulation characteristics.
- The ability to significantly reduce the load on the substrate.
- A small indicator of moisture absorption.
Full-bodied
The voids in solid articles occupy not more than 13% of the volume. Because of this, solid bricks are characterized by high thermal conductivity, so the building requires additional thermal insulation.
Although solid ceramics weighs more than hollow ceramics, it surpasses it by strength, so it is used in the construction of load-bearing elements, foundations, socle of other types of similar structures.
Full bodied brick has the following characteristics:
- High frost resistance.
- Excellent compressive strength.
- Ability to withstand any load.
Specifications
The material has excellent characteristics that favorably distinguish it from similar products of other types. These are:
- Ecological cleanness - products are made from natural materials without the addition of harmful or toxic components.
- Excellent density.
- Long-term preservation of appearance, regardless of any weather conditions.
- Excellent resistance against aggressive natural effects.
Scope of application
Used zabutovochny brick is very widely used for all types of external work, including construction:
- Column.
- Vaults.
- The foundations.
- Bearing walls.
Marking of products
In order to be able to select the right brick for the construction of buildings of different storeys, the products are marked. The designation informs about the pressure index for 1 sq. Km. M, which can withstand the erected walls. For example, the marking M100 reports: for each square meter should not be more than 100 kg of load.
Several grades of ceramic stone are produced:
- M100. The most affordable material, therefore, is most often used in the construction of private cottages and houses.
- M125. Designed for the erection of cottages and low buildings. Reliability and strength characteristics exceed the similar material M100.
- M150. The most demanded products, which also has high strength.
In other words, the more floors you need to build, the greater the mark of the ceramic backing stone.
According to GOST No. 530-2007, the size of the brick is as follows:
- Double products - 25 x 12 x 14 cm.
- The one-and-a-half is 25 x 12 x 8.8 cm.
- Single - 25 x 12 x 6.5 cm.
On the backstreet brick price depends on several characteristics - dimensions, brand, type. For example (the cost is indicated per piece):
- Hollow semitone products cost about 9.5 rubles.
- The price of full-bodied production M125 - about 7.3 rubles.
- The price of a single brick M100 - about 5.5 rubles.
