Products from puff pastry, which can be cooked at home

Thinking about baking something tasty for the holiday, for the arrival of guests or just for dinner, many housewives first of all consider the products of a puff-baked, batterless dough. It is obedient enough, and it's very easy to make a cake or small pies out of it. Especially when it comes to the frozen test, which can be bought in the store, saving a lot of time. It remains only to prepare the filling, defrosting the semi-finished product, and bake the ready-made pie in the oven.

Some prepare the dough at home in advance and freeze it for the future, considering that it is obtained from more natural and quality products. In principle, everything that is done at home is more useful than a store one. However, given that it can take several hours to prepare this test (which not everyone can afford to spend), it is sometimes much easier to buy a puff pastry. The recipe for this semi-finished product is so simple (it includes only margarine, flour and water) that the home from the store is rarely different. Unless someone has a unique option (for example, on beer or with the addition of vodka).

The simplest puff pastry recipe includes 2 cups of wheat flour, half a cup of water, a little salt and a batch of margarine (or, better, butter). Of all the ingredients, except margarine, mix the fresh dough. Then it is thinly rolled out, rubbed half of the margarine on a grater, sprinkled on top and, folded in an envelope, put for a couple of hours in the refrigerator. Then the procedure is repeated.

Products made from unleavened dough can also be quite tasty, but it is usually cooked for a couple of dishes, boiled or fried. Bake it quite rare. Among the most popular dishes you can name pelmeni, manti, vareniki, chebureks, sometimes it is made with cheesecakes, flat cakes, thin snack pies.

Products from puff pastry are just the opposite, bake in the oven. The simplest recipe from this semi-finished product is sweet "tongues". They are prepared by cutting the dough into strips, greasing the top with a yolk and sprinkling with sugar (you can add a little cinnamon). Literally in 15-20 minutes delicious puff "tongues" will be ready. They need a little cooling and can be served for tea.

More complex products from the puffed, batterless dough are prepared with fillings. The easiest option - pies. They can be with meat and potatoes, with fish and cheese, with cottage cheese and fruits. Preparing the filling, it should be wrapped in a rolled dough and bake the products in the oven. You can cook one big pie. Then the pitch will be more spectacular, especially if you decorate the product on top with various figures that are easy to fashion from the remains of the dough.

For pies with meat, for example, it takes (per 500 grams of ready-made dough) a pound of pork, vegetable oil, 2 onions, salt and spices. Meat cut into small cubes, fry until half cooked, then add onions, salt, sprinkle with spices and fry until slightly golden in color. For juiciness, you can add a little cream. Finished minced meat is wrapped in a rolled dough, on top of the patties are smeared with egg and put in the oven for 20 minutes.

In general, there are a lot of recipes for both sweet pastries and all kinds of snacks. The only thing you need to remember: the products from the puff-free batter do not lighten up if they are not smeared with yolk.
