Endocrine infertility and its treatment

Endocrine infertility, also called hormonal, is a violation of the reproductive function of the body, due to disruption of the endocrine system.

Yes, yes, endocrine infertility is a problem of both sexes, as hormonal health problems are peculiar to both men and women.

So, hormonal infertility in women is a malfunction in the hormonal chain responsible for ovulation: for example, the egg is immobile, so it does not enter the uterine tube and uterus, or the follicles do not burst. With any such hormonal failure occurs anovulation or fickle ovulation, which is the cause of infertility in women.

The reasons for the development of endocrine infertility in women can be many. The most common among them - a glitch in the thyroid gland, pituitary and hypothalamus, as well as excessive production of male hormones, leading to the formation of polycystic ovaries. Other common causes of hormonal infertility are ovarian malnutrition, early menopause, lack of ovarian sensitivity to hormones that contribute to the formation of the ovum. Also, to the violation of the reproductive system of women can lead to stress, obesity and any serious diseases.

Men can have two kinds of hormonal infertility: congenital and acquired. In the first case, a violation in the formation of the male sexual system occurs during intrauterine development. Acquired endocrine infertility occurs due to disruption in the development of primary sexual characteristics during puberty or as a result of damage to the testicles in adulthood. Also, men can develop hormone infertility in adulthood or adolescence, due to diabetes, thyroid problems, as well as lowering the level of male hormones and increasing the level of female hormones.

Diagnosis of endocrine infertility is fairly easy. Thus, in men it is detected by the blood test and the amount of female hormones in it , as well as by such signs as erectile dysfunction, breast enlargement, decreased libido, narrowing of the field of vision. Also, with hormonal infertility in men , ejaculate analysis reveals a decrease in the number of spermatozoa.

In women, infertility of this type is detected by urinary test, ultrasound-monitoring of ovulation, test for ovulation and curettage of the uterus. It is also possible to diagnose at home using a basal temperature chart. To do this, for several months you need to measure the temperature in the rectum - in the morning, without getting out of bed. If ovulation does not occur, the temperature will remain unchanged. If ovulation is, in its period there should be a rise in temperature.

Early detection of hormone infertility is very important, as curing infertility is much easier in the early stages - because it, like any other disease, progresses with time. Yes, endocrine infertility is treated - both in men and women, and treatment is not painful.

Both in men and in women infertility is treated with the help of various hormonal drugs. At the initial stage of the disease, the thyroid gland and adrenal glands work normally, the diabetes mellitus is treated, obesity (if any), the psychological state is corrected, and after that the ovulation process is started.

Hormonal drugs are extremely effective and quickly lead to the whole reproductive system, but some of them can provoke multiple pregnancies - this should be taken into account.

In the same case, if a woman has not been helped by hormonal drugs, there is another way to defeat infertility. This is the stimulation of superovulation, during which several follicles are ripening immediately, after which ECO often occurs. Thanks to this procedure, many women who have not cured sterility with hormones, begin to conceive a child.
