In recent years, unfortunately, parks are not very popular. Nevertheless, the green corners in the Russian capital still remain. For example, the park "Pokrovskoe-Streshnevo." The map of Moscow contains not so many recreational zones like this. Most of these resources are in the sleeping areas, and not closer to the center. So it is definitely worth visiting the park "Pokrovskoe-Streshnevo" at least once. How to get to it and what to see there?

The official address is 5 Voykovsky Proezd, house 2A. The entrance is completely free, the park is open around the clock.

Characteristic

This park has three names, so there is often confusion. In addition to the main one, we also use Pokrovskoe-Glebovo and Glebovo-Streshnevo. This name eventually passed to the district where the park is located. And originally it went from the name of the owners, which will be discussed a little later.

The area of the park is about 237 hectares. On its territory there is a manor and some other sights of different time of construction. There are many other interesting things. So, to visit it is definitely worth it. Especially since the park "Pokrovskoe-Streshnevo" lies not far from the major Moscow streets, there are bus and trolleybus stops nearby, a railway station and a metro. This is a piece of nature in the middle of the stone jungle. So, how did he become like this?

History

Although the correct name is still "Pokrovskoe-Glebovo", another name has gotten much better. Initially, the village, located on the site of a modern park, was simply called Pokrovskoe. In 1664 he was bought by Rodion Streshnev, who later became one of the tutors of Peter the Great. His family was not noble until 1626, until he became related with the royal family. So Streshnev became direct relatives of one of the Russian rulers - Alexei Mikhailovich Romanov.

So, when the village was purchased by the new owner, ponds were dug in its territory, in which they began to breed fish, some economic services were built, etc. Over the next 250 years, the Streshnev family settled their ancestral nest - a mansion, a refectory, a church , Greenhouses.

Glebovs in the name of the manor appeared after the great-granddaughter of Rodion Streshneva, Elizabeth, married and took a double surname. The last owner of the estate - Yevgenia Fyodorovna Shakhovskaya-Glebova-Streshneva - once again rebuilt the mansion, and in this form it survived to the present day. After the revolution, all this land and buildings were requisitioned and turned into a sanatorium. At different times there were a museum, a holiday home and even a research institute! Now the mansion itself is abandoned, it is not restored, only guarded.

Attractions in the territory

In addition to the mansion itself, located in the eastern part of the green massif, the park "Pokrovskoe-Streshnevo" is interesting and other things. So, here is located a spring called "Swan", which is one of the few sources of clean drinking water in Moscow. It is landscaped and popular with nearby residents.

On the clearing over the springs you can find the remains of old buildings. Until 1942 there was a pavilion "Elizavetino", built by one of the owners for his wife. During the war, it was destroyed.

In addition, not so long ago a dam on the river Khimke, built by beavers, was discovered on the territory. Strangely enough, it is also very popular with visitors to the park, because in the city of Moscow, such things have long been a rarity.

Flora and fauna

Of course, one of the most interesting sights, which has a natural-historical park "Pokrovskoe-Streshnevo" - is its inhabitants. In fact, this is a forest, so the residents here are appropriate. Flora includes more than 200 species of various plants, including those listed in the Red Book. As for animals and birds, here live squirrels, moles, beavers, hedgehogs, owls, as well as jays, nightingales, thrushes and many other fauna. So, observant visitors can discover a lot of new things by going to the park "Pokrovskoe-Streshnevo". Photo of rare animals and plants made within the boundaries of Moscow, of course, will rejoice for a very long time. You will not regret such a walk.

Routes

Few green massif in Moscow is as large as the Pokrovskoe-Streshnevo park. The diagram shows a huge number of tracks suitable for both cyclists and those who prefer rollers, and for pedestrians and moms with strollers.

The longest route covers the whole park and passes by ponds, a ravine, a spring, so you can see all the fun at a time. Those who get tired of this path, go deep into the forest and explore smaller paths, so there are plenty of options.

For cyclists it is convenient that from here it is easy to get to Strogino and Serebryany Bor, so the walk can be continued slightly to the west. In addition, it is easy to go to the Moscow channel and even look at the operation of locks. True, it is better not to do it alone, but with an experienced guide.

Things to do?

It seems that Muscovites have long forgotten what parks are for. Of course, on them you can just walk or ride a bicycle or roller, enjoying the clean air surrounding the greenery and the singing of birds.

However, the park "Pokrovskoe-Streshnevo" is also a great place for sunbathing, playing volleyball or badminton. For fans of extreme sports, there is a ravine, which was chosen by cyclists. The park trains a huge number of amateur athletes, there are sections on cross-country skiing, tourism, mountaineering and many other activities. But to swim in Ivankovskiye ponds, unfortunately, it is impossible.

For those who prefer picnics in nature, special covered arbors with benches are equipped. Although you need to take into account that there are a lot of interested people, so you might have to look for vacant seats. The gazebos are located mainly near the pond, but they also exist in the depths of the park. There is also a cafe, but it is rather strange to come to visit them in the park.

"Pokrovskoe-Streshnevo" is perfect for both normal and active recreation. Near the ponds is almost always crowded, but walking a little away from the tracks, you can forget that the park is in the borders of Moscow, and just listen to the silence and fall out of the crazy metropolitan rhythm of life.

There are also disadvantages, mainly they relate to the infrastructure. Water and food can only be bought at the entrance of the "Voikovskaya". Equipped and clean toilets also do not, which becomes a serious problem if a picnic is planned for the whole day.

Parks nearby

Comparable in terms of area and resources of recreational areas in walking distance, perhaps, not to find, except that the already mentioned Silverpine Forest. From here you can get to Aleshkinsky and Khimki forests, Timiryazevsky park, River station with its squares, PKiO Severnoye Tushino and well-known Shodnensky ladle. However, for this purpose it will be better to use transport, since walking on such long distances along the loaded highways can hardly be called useful.
