Fish and non-fish products of the sea have a huge food, technical, fodder and even medicinal value. In seafood, as is known, contains a large amount of protein, amino acids, so necessary for proper development and good health.

Today, most restaurants offer their customers a variety of dishes from fish and non-fish products of the sea. They are fried, stewed, boiled and served with original sauces. But at home, you can prepare various seafood dishes quickly and easily. The main thing is to know the secret recipe.

The high price of seafood in our country is due to the fact that storing and transporting them for long distances is quite problematic. All non-fish products of the sea have a very short shelf life, so for transportation to other countries they are gutted and subjected to emergency freezing. Huge funds are spent on the correct transportation. For example, shellfish can be transported only in special containers, which, as you know, are worth the money.

Seaweed

Seaweed is very popular throughout the post-Soviet space. Sea kale is certainly not an exotic dish and has long been present on the tables of Russians. The nutritional value of seaweed is incredibly high. In sea cabbage contains 13 percent of protein, amino acids, iron, phosphorus, a huge amount of iodine, zinc and bromine, potassium and magnesium. It is used as an independent dish, as a component of salads, as an additive to various side dishes.

As a rule, non-fish products of the sea are not eaten as independent dishes. They are often complementary to other foods and recipes.

Dishes from non-fish products of the sea

In cooking, seafood and fish are very often used. Recipes of dishes from non-fish products of the sea are diverse and multifaceted. Most often culinary specialists use for these recipes squid, crayfish, shrimp, mussels and sea kale.

We offer you some simple and easy to prepare dishes that will become real finds for your cookbook, will please with the speed of cooking and will be an ornament of any festive table.

Fried mussels with potatoes and onions

To prepare the dish you will need:

• 75 grams of mussels;

• 100 grams of potatoes;

• 20 grams of vegetable oil;

• 10 grams of onions.

Cooking process

First you need to cook or let the mussels. This is done in the following way: the non-fish food products of the sea, that is, the mussels, are poured cold water and put on medium fire. In the water you can also add a little greens (dill, parsley), celery root, carrots, half onions, a little salt and a couple of black peppercorns. They cook, as a rule, about half an hour (20-40 minutes).

If you only want to let the mussels, then this is also done with the help of water. Instead, you can use broth or milk. Roots and greens can also be added (if desired). The cooking process lasts about twenty minutes.

After you prepare mussels by any of the proposed methods, they should be cooled and cut into small pieces. On the heated frying pan, flavored with vegetable oil, put the cut pieces of mussels and add to them finely chopped onion.

Serve fried with onion mussels with boiled potatoes. It can be mashed potatoes or large unmacked pieces of potatoes.

Fish and squid bites

Of course, any seafood is perfectly combined with fish. Fish cutlets, zrazy, little bits are favorite dishes. But they will become even more tasty if you add seafood to fish minced meat.

To prepare bits from fish and squid, you will need:

• Fish fillet - 100 grams.

• Squids are two pieces.

• A small piece of a loaf or white bread.

• 30 grams of milk.

• Salt, pepper (to taste).

• One raw egg.

• Onions - two small heads.

• Breadcrumbs.

• 20 grams of vegetable oil (for frying).

Cooking process

For this dish, it is best to take ready-made fish fillets without bones. We cut it into small pieces, weighing about thirty grams each, and let's go through the meat grinder. Also with the help of the kitchen "assistant" we chop the onion, boiled squid. To this mixture add one chicken egg and soaked in milk roll. Mince thoroughly mix, salt, pepper and add seasoning for fish (optional).

From the received mass we form small cutlets - little bits, and we breadt them in breadcrumbs. Fry on any oil until crisp on both sides. If you prepare such little bits for children, it is better to change the frying for extinguishing in the oven.

You can serve such dishes from non-fish products of the sea with any side dish, such as mashed potatoes, boiled rice, buckwheat, pasta, stewed vegetables.

Shrimp with rice and onions

Shrimp - another type of non-fish products of the sea, which are very popular among cooks today. From them you can cook a huge variety of dishes, starting with light salads and ending with complex stews. Shrimps go well with different side dishes, but a particularly popular combination is rice and seafood.

Required products:

  • 150 grams of rice;
  • One head of onions;
  • 150 grams of hard cheese;
  • Shrimp - 300 grams;
  • Vegetable oil for frying onions.

Cooking process

To prepare shrimps with rice and onions, first you should properly weld rice. It should turn out friable. For this dish, it is better to take long-grain rice, which when cooked is not formed into a sticky mess. Onions must be cut into half rings and fried in vegetable oil until a slight blush.

Shrimp should be cooked in advance, so as not to spend a lot of time after the assembly of the dish. How to cook shrimps, for sure everyone knows, because these inhabitants of the seas are very similar in the process of cooking with our "native" cancers. Boil the shrimp in slightly salted water, take it out, cool it, release it from the shell. You can cut the shrimps arbitrarily, but we advise you to make pieces of small size so that they do not stand out actively against the background of other ingredients.

In a separate bowl, mix the fried onions and chopped shrimps. Salt mixture and pepper to taste.

In another bowl, mix the grated cheese and boiled rice on a large grater.

We prepare the tomato sauce. You can buy it ready, but it's better to spend time and make a homemade sauce that will taste better and at a cheaper price.

We form the dish. On the plate lay a small hill of rice and cheese. In the center of the hill we place shrimps with onions and pour tomato sauce on top. It turns out an amazing color combination. If you add a bit of bright greens to the dish, it will turn out to be even more saturated in color and aromatic to taste.
