How to properly organize the feeding of German shepherds: puppies and maturing dogs
The full development of the dog depends primarily on its feeding. Especially it concerns puppies in the period of their growth. Properly composed diet allows you to grow from a small squeaking lump healthy beautiful dog with a beautiful appearance. Thus, each owner needs to know how to properly organize the feeding of German shepherds: puppies or more adults.
With regard to the issue of feeding dogs, most experts primarily emphasize that it should be routine. And the correct feeding of the puppy should be exactly this in the first place. Many veterinarians recommend the following diet:
- up to 2 months - 6 times a day;
- from 2 to 3 months - 5 times a day;
- up to six months - about 4 times;
- Up to a year - 3 times;
- after a year - 2 or 1 times.
A clear meal schedule not only positively influences the formation of the puppy's internal organs, but also has a beneficial effect on the upbringing of the dog. This is due to the fact that the animal does not independently decide on what time to eat, but follows the instructions of the owner.
Norms of feeding puppies primarily depend on what type of food the owner has chosen for his pet. In particular, manufacturers of dry feeds on the packaging of their products always indicate the sizes of portions that the pet should receive daily. As a rule, the norm depends on the age of the puppy and on the composition of the product. Thus, the animal with every meal receives the necessary amount of a wide variety of nutrients for a full-fledged development. In another variant, when the owner prefers natural products, the daily norm must be calculated by himself. Feeding German shepherds (puppies and adult dogs) should be as balanced as possible, and the diet should include all the substances that the animal needs for a full and healthy life. It is sometimes difficult to create such a "menu" for your pet, so many owners prefer dry food. However, finished products can sometimes cause allergic reactions in an animal, so picking it up is not easy. So the question of the type of feeding is always solved independently by each individual owner, depending on his personal beliefs.
