One of the most exciting activities for a young child is modeling various figures. Of course, for this there is all known plasticine. But, whatever one may say, it's still not environmentally friendly material. But it's not enough that - maybe a child will want to taste it. Therefore, many caring mothers began to apply for this procedure a special dough for modeling. If you want, you can buy it in the store and spend a lot of money on a small amount of material. But you can save your hard earned money and make a dough for modeling at home: so to speak, cheap and angry.

Salted dough is one of the best materials from which it is possible to mold figurines of excellent quality. His cooking does not take much time and is quite simple. And it does not leave any stains and it is very easy to wash. In addition, as it was said above, modeling of a salt dough for children will be absolutely safe and harmless, even if he accidentally swallows it.

So how do you prepare this miracle material?

There are a lot of recipes for preparing a salt dough , but we will consider the main one. First, take a glass of salt and about the same amount of flour and mix everything. Then, what happened, pour a tablespoon of vegetable oil and half a glass of water. All mixed and with your hands until the dough becomes homogeneous in composition. It is also necessary that it does not stick to your hands. If you want the dough for modeling to be more elastic, then you can try to replace water with starch jelly.

To make it, you need to dissolve a tablespoon of starch in half a glass of water. In a separate saucepan bring 200 grams of water to a boil and pour a small trickle of starch into it, remembering to stir the mixture. Our kissel will be ready when its contents become transparent and a little thickens. Allow the resulting mixture to cool and add it to the flour instead of water.

Put the ready dough for modeling in a bag and send it to the refrigerator for a couple of hours. That's all - our homemade material is ready for "work and defense." Now you can start realizing your fantasies. If you want your crafts from the dough for modeling to be multicolored, then you can take advantage of the food colors that are sold in the store. You can use simple gouache or even carrot or beet juice.

In order to apply various patterns on the figures or something else, you can also use gouache. When painting products from salted dough should also take into account the fact that after drying the food color does not change its color, but the gouache turns a bit pale. But it is worth considering that you only need to paint figurines after they have dried up. A drying of such products should be carried out in an oven with a temperature of about 80 ° C. For simplicity, you can use a heating battery.

This puff pastry is stored in the refrigerator for several days. And dried and painted figures will delight your eyes for several years!
