Chest during pregnancy: changes and consequences

Some changes that occur in the body during pregnancy are invisible to our eyes. However, other features of the body become visible immediately after the fetus begins to develop. So, first of all, the breast changes during pregnancy, in particular, its volume and shape. Moreover, its increase is uneven.

First of all, active breast augmentation during pregnancy occurs in the first ten weeks after the fertilization of the egg. About a month after this period, the process of growth slows down, and then again renews with a new force. Before giving birth, the volume of each breast becomes more approximately 200 ml.

And not only the breast itself changes, but also the nipples with areoles. Thus, the diameter of the latter increases on average from 34 to 50 mm. The nipple itself becomes 2-3 mm more in circumference and becomes more elastic.

Breast during pregnancy increases, and, therefore, the load on the skin also increases. Remember that, the higher the tone of the skin, the more likely that the skin will regain its former shape and elasticity.

To ensure that the breasts during pregnancy are not covered with stretch marks, you need to increase the tone of the skin. This can be done using special creams with a high content of vitamins A and E.

In general, the breast during pregnancy undergoes a number of changes that appear within nine months. So, the main ones are:

  1. Exacerbation of nipple sensitivity. This is due to the fact that hormones are aimed at preparing the breast for breastfeeding. Also at this time, the milk flows increase, stretch and fill with milk.
  2. The skin around the nipples and the nipple itself are covered with pigment spots. This is due to the increase in the production of the hormone, which is responsible for the pigmentation.
  3. Darkening of the color of the nipple (it becomes crimson). This is due to the fact that blood circulation in the mammary gland increases during pregnancy.
  4. There are minor discharge from the breast during pregnancy, which have a yellow tint. It is colostrum, and it begins to appear in many early stages. It is called "first milk", the development of which, as a rule, begins in the second trimester of pregnancy. First the colostrum is thick and yellowish, then, when the term of labor is approaching, it becomes watery and colorless. Sometimes women do not observe such secretions while they are carrying a child. But this does not mean that they will have problems with milk: it will arrive in sufficient quantities for the baby.

In order to get used to new changes in the body, a woman needs to follow a number of recommendations. Then the transformation will be less painful and unusual. So, if the breast during pregnancy increases by several sizes, it is necessary to wear a supporting bra. Perhaps in order to avoid stretching the skin on the mammary glands, the doctor may advise sleeping in a special cotton sconce.

To choose a bra, you need to adhere to such selection criteria:

  1. It should be with good support.
  2. Its skeleton should be deep in the bra itself.
  3. Straps should be chosen wide, not narrow, so as not to injure and do not pull the skin.
  4. Closure is best to choose a regulating one. For pregnant women it is more convenient to use bras which are fixed from behind, but not from the front.
  5. It is necessary to avoid scabbards.

In order to maintain the elasticity of the chest, you can do special exercises, sign up for swimming and yoga. Then your breasts will look well-groomed and beautiful and after breastfeeding.

Of course, such activities should be carried out only after the permission of your doctor.
