How to cook fried chestnuts

Such an amazing dish, like roasted chestnuts, is prepared from edible fruits of chestnut tree (grows on the Balkan Peninsula), they are quite nutritious and contain a lot of starch. In the cold period of time they are very fond of eating Europeans, since these fruits have a small amount of fat compared to nuts.

Chestnuts bake bread, cook soup, desserts, make flour, and they are served as a garnish. However, before you make chestnuts, you must always cut their peel since they contain a large amount of juice, which under the influence of high temperatures turns into steam, inside the fruit creates pressure and it explodes. In order for this to happen, make an incision depth of one centimeter on the sharp side of the chestnut.

Then they spread on a baking sheet in several layers and bake for about half an hour at high temperature. However, it should be remembered that in the oven roasted chestnuts can turn out to be sufficiently firm and dry, so it is recommended to bake them in aluminum dishes, on top of which they cover with a napkin, it is periodically moistened. When the flakes are peeling off the sides, the napkin is removed and fried for a few more minutes, sometimes shaking. It must be said that the whole process of cooking such a dish, as roasted chestnuts, takes about twenty minutes.

You can also use a frying pan. In this case, a small amount of water (about four spoons) is added to it, covered with a lid and fry the fruit on low heat, periodically shaking for about twenty-five minutes. Readiness is defined as follows: the nut is squeezed, and the shell must be easily removed. Finished dish sprinkled with salt or sugar to taste and served hot.

Fried chestnuts are well combined with beer, kvass, grape juice or red wine.

You can cook nuts in a microwave oven. So, they put them in heat-resistant dishes, add salted water, so that it can close a third of the nuts, and cook for five minutes at maximum power.

It should be noted that roasted chestnuts must be consumed, as they say, from the heat of the heat, because the longer they cool, the more their taste will fade. That's why it is recommended to eat them immediately after baking.

The fruits of chestnut contain starch, sugar, ascorbic acid, iron and tannins, which give them a bitter taste. Before preparing them, no matter what method, it is recommended to fill them with water. At the same time, the fruits that are edible will sink to the bottom, and only spoiled ones will remain on the surface.

Consider another way to prepare roasted chestnuts for ice cream. For this, a half-kilogram of fruits is cleaned, cut and lowered into boiling water for two minutes, and then boil for another five minutes. After that, they put them in a mold, sprinkle with two tablespoons of sugar, add two tablespoons of butter and put in the oven for twenty minutes. When the dish is ready, it is sprinkled with a hundred grams of cognac and set on fire.

Thus, to date, the dishes from edible chestnuts are gaining popularity, which can be purchased in large stores or supermarkets. Nourishing and useful, they have a great taste, which can not be compared with anything.
