Fundamentals of technology and rules of badminton. Badminton: rules of the game for children

Every second child and adult knows how to play badminton. The essence of this sport is the transfer of a special shuttlecock through the net by strikes with rackets. Since 1992, badminton has entered the expanded program of the Olympic Games. The number of party members in professional form is 2 or 4.

History of appearance

At the beginning of the XIX century, British officers who were in the service in India, borrowed from local residents an ancient Arab game called "Puna". Today it can rightly be considered a prototype of badminton. Years later, the British brought the game with them to their homeland, and in Britain it instantly gained popularity.

As for the history and traditions of modern badminton, they originate from 1873. At that time, the famous and highly respected Duke of Beaufort built the first amateur court in his estate. Also, on his initiative, after 20 years, a full set of rules of the game was published in England, according to which all official competitions were to be held. In 1934, a special committee was organized, which later became the World Badminton Federation (BWF). The first international team championship in this sport was held only 13 years later. The tournament was named Thomas Cup and for a long time became an example to follow in terms of organization. A similar women's championship (Uber Cup) started in 1955.

Today badminton is included in the program of compulsory sports of the Summer Olympic Games.

Inventory and court

Rackets for badminton can be made of carbon fiber, aluminum and even titanium. In amateur types, preference is given to the wooden, since they are noticeably lighter than others. The main thing is that the rackets are made of a durable material capable of withstanding a constant load from impacts and string tension. When choosing it is worth paying attention to the mass. A pair of rackets should weigh no more than 200 g, otherwise the hand will quickly tire. It is also important that the center of gravity is not shifted. The thickness of the handle depends on the size of the hand. It should fit snugly and comfortably to the palm of your hand.

Strings are intertwined synthetic microfibers attached to the frame of the racket. Professional badminton, the rules of the game which involve throwing a shuttle at relatively long distances, requires the tension of the line to 160 N. In the amateur form, this figure can vary up to 100 N. On average, one racket requires about 10 m of a string 0.7 mm thick . Shuttlecocks are of two types: feather and plastic. The former are used in official competitions, since their weight is much smaller, and the flight path is more accurate. They are made only from goose feathers by special standards. As for plastic flounces, they are distinguished by their durability and long-range brightness.

The courts are rectangular platforms with a length of 13.4 m. The width of the field for single competitions is 5.18 m, and for paired - 6.1 m. The mesh should be fixed to the posts at a height of 1.5 m. Its upper part is clad with a special white Braid. The playground itself consists of 5 zones, in which rivals must fall into a shuttlecock to win the game.

Initial position

The basics of technology and the rules of badminton are described in the official BWF regulations. First, it indicates how to hold the racket. From this directly depends not only the strength of the impact, but also its accuracy. The racket is taken so that its end does not protrude from the fist, and the rim was perpendicular to the floor. It is not necessary to tighten the handle much, it should spring freely at every blow in the shuttlecock. The case with the main post should be slightly tilted forward so that the body weight is distributed evenly on both slightly bent legs. The right-hander should have his left foot a few centimeters in the direction of the opponent. It is important that both hands are bent over the entire game, but not strained. At movement the case should keep the basic position.

Badminton (rules of the game according to the WBF version) requires special skills when submitting. During it, it is forbidden to tear your legs off the ground. Also at the time of submission, the racket must be at the level of the batter's belt.

Technique of blows

Of the single sports the easiest for training is badminton. The rules of the game include an initial stand, execution of punches and the definition of points. The most difficult part in training is to beat the opponent's serve.

In modern badminton, there are 4 types of blows: shortened, flat, long-range and attacking. The first two are used for deceptive maneuvers, when the opponent is on the edge of his half. Attacking returns are a powerful blow that is directed to a specific place in the enemy zone. As for the far, it is used to force the opponent to move back as far as possible.

Also blows are on the right and on the left. The first is considered the main one, and it is performed by the open side of the racket. At the same time the body turns to the right and slightly bends, so that the weight of the body is directed to the supporting leg. The size of the racket depends on the desired impact force. When you beat off on the left, the body and legs rotate, respectively, in the same direction. The only difference from the blow to the right is that it is carried out by the closed side of the racket. During the sweep, you only need to look at the shuttlecock. A bump above the head is a separate species and requires a special technique of execution. Do not confuse it with the top feed. During this impact, the body must be turned half a turn to the right and slightly deflected back, legs bend. At the moment of touching the shuttle with a racket, the athlete rises to his toes and flexes in the lower back. The beating hand should be stretched and move over the head forward.

Rules of sports badminton

Before the start of the game, lots are always cast for the determination of the party and the right of first serve. The debut blow in the shuttle should be made from below, so that the rim of the racket does not rise above the batter's belt. It is worth noting that in this sport (badminton) the rules of the game allow you to make several false movements in order to confuse the opponent. The host at this time is obliged to be on his own zone, not stepping behind the lines.

After the first pitch, players can move freely around their site, but touching the grid is strictly prohibited. The score in games is up to 15 points, except for women's and children's classes - up to 11 points. The meeting ends at the moment when one of the parties won in two games.

Scoring

The rules for determining points also include the rules of playing badminton. Briefly, this procedure can be described as follows:

- In the men's singles and doubles meetings the host side during the tied result 14:14 is allowed to choose the continuation of the game to 15 or 17 points. For one missed shuttlecock rival is awarded a score. In total, the game can consist of 2 or 3 games, depending on the total score. - In women's matches of any level, the rule of additional 3 points is allowed only after the result of 10:10. At the end of the game, the parties must switch zones.

- In children's competitions it is allowed to hold parties consisting of one half, up to 21 points.

Rules of the game: errors

1. Loss of pitch or point occurs in the event that the shuttle does not hit the corresponding zone of the opponent.

2. A free kick is awarded for the player touching any part of the body or ammunition of the net.

3. Submission is repeated if the striker does not hit the shuttle, and passes to the opponent if he hits any obstacle.

4. The basic rules of the game (badminton) also include the definition of violations. Party members are forbidden to step outside the line of the foreign zone and the edges of the field, as well as block the opponent's blows.

5. Shuttle should not touch any part of the player's body. This threatens the loss of points.

Children's badminton

You can learn this sport from an early age. To begin with, it is recommended to show the child some exercises to get acquainted with the shuttlecock, and then - separately with a racket. After 5-7 sessions, you can proceed to the interaction of these elements. In a sport like badminton, the rules of the game for children and adult lovers are practically the same. In the professional category there is a whole procedure, which must be followed by the participants. In the form of children, the rules of badminton are briefly described in the following terms:

- participants are divided into pairs;
- the field is not delineated into zones, the lines limit the site only on the sides and behind;
- a grid is stretched between the players (about 0.5 m in height);
- filing and blows are performed in an arbitrary form;
- points are scored if the opponent missed the shuttlecock on his zone, or he flew out of the field.
