Corrugated double-walled pipe: advantages of use
HDPE double-wall corrugated pipe: characteristics
This product has several layers. The protective top coat is made of low pressure polyethylene (HDPE) and can have a blue, black or red color. Flexible corrugated double-walled pipe of red color is usually used for laying electric networks of high voltage, black for common networks, and blue for telecommunications and communication cables. The inner layer is made of high pressure polyethylene (LDPE), which provides additional rigidity for the ribs. It has a smooth surface structure, so it can be easily threaded into the cable.
Types of pipes
Corrugated double-walled pipe can be of three types:
- Flexible drainage;
- Rigid;
- Flexible electrotechnical.
The first is intended for implementation of hidden melioration, drainage of sewage. The installation of such systems helps to prevent the destruction of foundations of buildings, various structures and roads by sewage. The presence of a geofiltre allows the pipe not to silt, which is its additional advantage. A rigid pipe can be used to create cable traces, embedding in concrete structures and ground. Most often it is used for the construction of cable ducts in urban conditions. Corrugated double-walled flexible electrical pipe can be used for cable wiring. It can be used both inside the ground and reinforced concrete products. Technical characteristics allow to form cable routes of different levels of complexity.
Corrugated double-walled pipe: field of application
The use of this kind of products gives a considerable economic effect, which is achieved due to the small weight, ease of installation, as well as the duration of the operational period. Therefore, such products are applicable in a very wide range of spheres:
- Power supply, where it allows to locate the cable where there is a high probability of mechanical damage, as well as in moving wet soils;
- Telecommunications;
- Transport infrastructure, where it is used for laying cable mains along roads;
- Monolithic concrete construction;
- Communal economy.
