Alpine window: advantages and installation

Fresh and clean air in the room has a special significance for health, it affects the mood of a person, his cheerfulness and sleep.

How Ventilation Works

The ventilation system is present in all residential and warehouse buildings. In apartments, as a rule, ventilation in the kitchen is established, based on natural air circulation and carried out using a single exhaust duct. Oxygen enters the room through the door and window slots, and is removed through the channel due to the temperature difference. The space of ventilation boxes should never be disturbed during the repair process, because of this, tenants on the first floors may remain without ventilation.

The ventilation shafts are not devoid of shortcomings. The operation of such a system is influenced by atmospheric conditions - wind speed and air temperature. In the cold season, circulation is provided by a noticeable temperature difference; for the same reason, in summer, it reduces to a minimum.

Why do we need an alpine window

In most homes and apartments today installed plastic window systems, characterized by high tightness. Despite their convenience and the preservation of heat in the winter, they almost do not pass air, which is why the quality of the ventilation system is reduced. Since to refuse them irrationally, the way out of the situation is artificial ventilation, for example, the alpine window. Feedback on this device is usually positive, many note the receipt of a sufficient amount of air, cleaned of exhaust gases and dust, as well as improving the microclimate in the apartment. The Alpine window is a complex system that does not require drafts and is intended for office and residential premises.

Air exchange

Quality air exchange affects not only the performance, but also on human health. Several conditions are required for its formation:

  • Removal of polluted air.
  • Continuous circulation of oxygen throughout the house or apartment.
  • Air intake from the street.

Alpine window, the price of which is within 3000 rubles, is able to ensure compliance with all these conditions. It is optimal for rooms with insufficient air exchange. Its use is especially justified in multi-unit buildings of the old foundation, in which ventilation works inadequately, or does not work at all. The need for it increases with the replacement of wooden windows with modern plastic ones.

Alpine window: installation

Several domestic companies are engaged in the manufacture of this device. For its installation, it is required to create a hole in the outer wall by means of diamond drilling, its diameter should be about 14 cm. A blower is placed in the hole, supplemented with sound and heat insulating materials. On the side of the street is fixed a fine grid or grid, which prevents the penetration of precipitation, debris and insects. The blower is closed from the inside by a special box, which has a damper control and a high-quality synthetic filter. The volume of incoming air is regulated by means of a damper. To change its position, use a handle or a special cord.

The alpine window provides the flow of the required volume of already purified air, while the standard ventilation removes the used air. In the event that the natural system is not sufficient, a forced additional system is installed in the duct.

The best option for mounting is the space above the window. This device is indispensable in apartments located on the ground floors with windows facing the busy roads, in crowded rooms and in rooms without windows. Alpine window is not suitable for installation in a bathroom and in the kitchen, as it does not replace exhaust ventilation.

Increased efficiency

Regardless of the type of extractor used, in order to provide a continuous air flow to the exhaust devices, over-flow grilles must be installed throughout the entire path of its movement. For the correct organization of the flow, it is important that the most contaminated zone be the last in the general chain. That is why ventilation in the kitchen and in the bathroom is of particular importance. In the absence of gratings, there should be a free space between the floor and the door, its width must be at least 2 cm. Only in this case the functioning of the system will be sufficient.

As it was noted earlier, fresh air is introduced in two ways - forced and natural. Infiltration is the flow of oxygen through slots and openings in wall structures, doors and windows.

Wooden standard windows are characterized by a high degree of air permeability. The incoming volume of oxygen through uncompacted spaces and cracks is quite enough for a medium-sized home. Also it is necessary to take into account the air inflow provided by the doorways.

Difficulties arising from standard ventilation

Ventilation of the room due to a small opening of the plastic window or window leaf leads to the following problems:

  • In the cold season, the windows themselves and the surrounding elements begin to cool and promote the appearance of condensate;
  • There are significant heat losses and, as a consequence, heating costs increase;
  • Full replacement of used air with fresh air takes place within 40-80 minutes, depending on the surrounding conditions;
  • When the window is completely open, the exchange of air takes no more than 10 minutes.
