Wood panels: varieties and fields of application

Wooden panels - one of the most common materials for the decoration of walls. Office, hotel, cafe ... Yes, and in living rooms, the wooden panels as a covering of the walls will look elegant and elegant.

This method of decoration was originally characteristic of the Foggy Albion, which is why it was called the "English style". Apparently, it arose in the sixteenth century, when England was making its first steps towards the status of the mistress of the seas. The messengers on the English schooners and frigates at that time were eliminated just that way, a little later nostalgic for the stormy youth retired pirates or simply sailors moved this fashion to the shore. So gradually the so-called English style was formed.

The finishing of walls with wooden panels has its advantages. First, when installing them, you do not need to level the walls. In contrast, say, from the wallpaper, under which a laborious (and rather expensive) process of plastering and puttying is performed. Secondly, the tree is a natural material, so the walls will "breathe", that is, absorb excess moisture from the air, and then give it back. Thirdly, wooden panels provide a high level of sound insulation. Wood - the material is quite plastic, so the sound waves in it are extinguished quickly. Fourthly, the wood itself keeps heat well, so the wooden panels can provide additional insulation. Fifth, durability. When decorating walls with wooden panels, there is no need to change the cover every few years, like wallpaper. They will serve for a long time, needing only a minor cosmetic care.

Panels come in several forms: all-welded glued panels, three-layered panels with a top layer of valuable wood and decorative panels from softwood. For finishing the walls, dial-up rack panels are still used. The latter method is more labor-intensive, but it avoids joints that occur when using standard size panels.

Wooden panels - this is a great way to give the house the atmosphere of an old family mansion. To do this, there is a specially developed technology for aging the tree. The most advantageous look will be the finish of the panels not only of the walls, but also of the ceiling. Although for many, perhaps, aging is an unnecessary luxury. The new panels look very good too.

This material can also be used for rooms with high humidity: a bathroom or a kitchen. Only the wooden panels for these rooms need special. Their surface is covered with a special cosmetic building wax, which will protect the tree from the destructive effect of moisture in the air.

The panels are produced both from expensive wood species (oak, ebony , rosewood, walnut, wenge), and from local ones, accessible to anyone (pine, spruce, maple or ash). But whatever the material of the panels, the wood in the interior of the house is, of course, ecological safety, beauty and just a good mood.
