What is the weather? How is the weather forecast prepared? What weather events should be feared?

This is not always a predictable "lady." In our life we deal with it every day, sometimes we rejoice over it, we often think of it with vexation, sometimes it spoils our possessions and health. All this weather conditions, it happens, is prosperous or unfavorable. What is the weather? Let's try to consider this concept in more detail.

A little bit about the concept of "weather"

So what is it? Simply put, this is a set of indicators such as the temperature of the surrounding air, wind, sun, clouds, precipitation.

Let's look at the nature of the weather conditions, where they are formed and what they are. What does the weather depend on? Processes in the atmosphere and air currents affect the climatic conditions. Due to the fact that air masses move, water participates in the cycle, and the sun gives its heat, we can observe a variety of weather. Meteorologists are engaged in the study of these processes.

What are the elements of meteorology and what is the weather, or rather, such weather phenomena as fog, drizzle, thunderstorms, snowstorms, air temperature fluctuations, wind speed, visibility, rainbow, rainfall, snow cover height, halo?

The air masses move endlessly. This affects the temperature of the air, which is very important for us. Its indicators vary from the highest to the lowest. The coldest on the mainland is Antarctica, while in Africa, in the Libyan desert, the air temperature is always high.

Air temperature

The most pleasant temperature for a person is about 23 degrees. Although it is not necessarily comfortable for a resident of the planet at such rates, much depends on the gusts of wind, atmospheric pressure, which sometimes causes people to feel bad in the form of a headache. Siberia in Russia is known for the fact that there is the highest pressure there, unlike any other point on the planet. And the lowest is observed in countries with a tropical climate.

Attempts to forecast and work of weather forecasters

Weather maps are compiled by weather forecasters at 3, 6 and 12 hours. They are carried out both on the earth's surface and in the atmosphere, because atmospheric processes are the cause of changing conditions on the earth. The weather forecast is reported to us also thanks to the satellites, which are specifically released into outer space to study airflows. Sometimes it happens that the forecasts turn out to be wrong, yet nature is unpredictable. However, determining the weather for a short time is always the most accurate. Two weeks is the maximum period for which it is possible to predict a decrease or increase in air temperature, precipitation and pressure. What gives the population the forecast? It is necessary for those engaged in agriculture, it is extremely important for pilots and industrial enterprises.

Weather phenomena of nature. Grad

Of course, everyone knows a phenomenon such as hail. These are particles of ice that have fallen out of the atmosphere, round, not always the right shape. What is dangerous hail? The fact is that the size of pieces of ice can be very large. Some reach 10 cm. Grad is a natural phenomenon, destructive for the countryside. Sometimes the losses from it are very large. What can happen if a large hail falls out? It destroys crops, damages cars, damages buildings, causes injuries to people and animals, spoils everything that is located on the street.

How do people try to reduce the damage that hail can cause? Grads start to crush even before they touch the ground. To do this, iodine reagent is released into the air using a nebulizer. Thus, the hail does not increase in size, but falls out in the form of small ice floes. The most devastating natural precipitation in the form of hail fell in Kansas, Munich and Moradabad.

Thunderstorms, lightning and their danger

Thunderstorms are inclement weather in the form of heavy rain with thunder and thunder. The accumulation of electricity in the clouds leads to this natural phenomenon. Lightning flashes in the sky due to electrical discharges that occur in the clouds or below. These are quite dangerous weather conditions, which are accompanied by strong wind gusts, constantly changing their direction, raising dust in the air. Than the storms are dangerous? A rushing wind can rip roofs off houses. There is also a great damage to the gardens, as a hurricane tears leaves from trees, breaks branches, and strong streams of rainfall can pluck fruits.

Thunderstorms sometimes cost a person life, since the most dangerous direct hit is lightning. They can cause a tragedy during the flight, as they knock down the instruments, cause breakdowns and fires. Also, the destruction of buildings and falling trees are often fatal for people.

On the icy roads

Roads covered with ice are certainly a dangerous factor. After all, what is the weather like? That blizzard, then a hurricane, and the next day everything turns into a slippery ice. Ice is a dense ice cover that not only covers roads, but also settles on wires and branches of trees. Sometimes the layer can be impressive, and branches under the weight of the ice cover break off. Elegant beauty can be devastating and directly for people.

For example, injuries received during the fall on the ice, or even mortality, unfortunately, are often found in both villages and cities. If you declare ice, it is better not to risk and postpone the car trip, and also try not to go out. The most dangerous are concussions of the brain due to a blow to the head, a fall on the back or in an unfortunate position. To exclude the possibility of falling, you need to pick up non-slip shoes and try to get out of the house a little earlier, in order not to hurry.

Strong frosts and snowstorms

What is the weather, or rather, frosty frosts? This natural phenomenon was called cavitation. Frosts are dangerous for humans, since they can cause frostbite. Therefore, you must always dress in the weather and try to spend time in the cold in motion. But the greatest danger is frost (especially at night) for crops and trees. This natural phenomenon causes cracks, or frosts, that spoil the bark of trees. And young and waterlogged trees have more chances to be damaged from low temperatures. To combat these weather conditions, nitrogen fertilizers are used in agriculture.

Snowstorms can also cause significant damage - these are very dangerous weather events. Moving snow masses at high speed often causes people, buildings and cars to drift, contributes to frostbite, destroys wires, which can cause disruption of power lines. Also blizzards are the enemy of motorists.

Dry weather

Such adverse weather phenomena, such as drought and dry winds, are due to a rather long deficit in precipitation. In these cases, usually there is a high air temperature and a low humidity. Drought is dangerous because the lack of moisture is harmful to the root system of plants and crops. Most often dry weather is inherent in the steppe, forest-steppe terrain and deserts. In such cases irrigation of an artificial type is used in agriculture.

What conservation measures are applied if the weather in the region is sunny and arid? Usually this is a set of measures that are designed to preserve moisture in the soil. Apply special plowing across the slope, make holes to improve the soil microrelief, create intermittent furrows, take steps to reduce the evaporation of moisture.
