The drug "Sparflo": instruction

The drug "Sparflo" refers to the clinical and pharmacological group of antibacterial (fluoroquinols). The drug is produced in tablets of 200 mg. The active substance is sparfloxacin. There are auxiliaries: corn starch, crospovidone, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate and silicon dioxide. The composition of the shell includes propylene glycol, talc, titanium dioxide.

The antibiotic "Sparflot" is a medical product with a wide range of action. With gram-positive bacteria , the activity of the "Sparflo" tablets is very high. The instruction describes insignificant activity with respect to gram-negative bacteria.

Absorption of sparfloxacin occurs rather slowly through the gastrointestinal tract. Its maximum concentration in the body reaches a maximum of 6 hours, absolute bioavailability - 92%, and the assimilation of the drug does not affect the time of food intake. Out-of-the-way, about 60% of the drug "Sparflot" is withdrawn. The instruction indicates the maximum output time, which is up to 20 hours.

Among the indications for the use of the drug "Sparflo" the instruction indicates the following pathologies:

- Chlamydia (relapse, acute form).

The dosage of the drug "Sparflo" depends on the severity of the disease itself. Instructions for use recommend the first day of taking 400 mg of the drug inside once, regardless of food intake. From the second day - 200 mg daily. From the results of bacteriological research, clinical course and severity of the disease, the treatment period is also determined.

From the side of the digestive system, there are side effects that result from the use of the drug "Sparflot". The instruction calls for the possibility of diarrhea, vomiting and nausea. There are negative effects on the central nervous system, they manifest themselves in the form of insomnia and headaches. Atrialgia, myalgia are a consequence of side effects on the musculoskeletal system.

Unfortunately, this drug also has contraindications. This applies to cases of hypersensitivity to the active substance, children under 15 years of age and glucose-6-phosphate dihydrogenase deficiency. There is a strict contraindication to taking Sparflot medication for pregnant and lactating women. Following the special instructions of the instruction, it is not necessary to expose the body to ultraviolet radiation during and after the course of treatment with the drug (about 5 days). In isolated cases, there are gusts of tendons, on the detection of which it is necessary to immediately stop taking the medication.

At present, there is no specific antidote for the case of an overdose of the drug "Sparflot", but symptomatic therapy, hemodialysis is recommended.

You should be aware of the interaction of the active substance, sparfloxacin in particular, with other medicines. Patients taking terfenadine, erythromycin, astemizole, that is, those drugs that increase the QT-interval, taking the drug is contraindicated, because it also applies to this series of medications.

Simultaneous reception of the drug "Sparflo" with theophylline does not affect its pharmacokinetics, which can not be said for iron sulfate, antacid preparations. Their reception should be carried out with an interval of 2 hours from the reception of Sparflo. The distribution of sparfloxacin is not affected by cimetidine. It speeds up its absorption of cisaprite, without affecting its bioavailability.
