What is the Battle Statute used for?

The use of military units and units, as well as connections in war and armed conflicts, must be clearly regulated by the published combat documents. The main thing here is the Military Regulations, which defines all the necessary aspects and gives an interpretation of the concepts and terms used, considers the management of units (units and connections), various types of actions, organization of security, including a number of points that require a common understanding and execution.

In the troops with highly specialized tasks, their analogues operate. Thus, for example, there is the Airborne Forces Military Charter, which sets out the provisions for preparing for landing, landing and conducting combined arms operations directly in the enemy rear, with paratroopers and assault and assault units, and interaction with various combat arms. Similar documents exist in other types of Armed Forces related to other security structures, and not only directly subordinated to the Ministry of Defense.

Let's consider closer the Combat Charter of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on the preparation and implementation of combined arms combat in the tactical link (battalion, company). This document was put into effect by the order of the Main Commander of the Land Forces - Deputy Defense Ministry of the Russian Federation No. 130 and dated August 31, 2004.

He gives a definition of what this type of combat operation represents, the basis for the application and fire destruction of opposing forces. The system of organization of subdivision management, the principles of the work of commanders and staffs, as well as the order of interaction with subdivisions, formations and control bodies of other troops of Russia are explained.

The military regulations define defensive and offensive tactics of actions, conducting counter combat. For the first time, questions and techniques have been included to confront the enemy in and out of the environment, the use of military formations in conflicts that have arisen in the border or inland areas of the country. Traditionally, the order of the march and movement of troops, the organization of the location on the ground and the system of guarding are included. Taking into account the realities of the present, a comprehensive approach is considered in the new interpretation, providing for the elements of its combat unit (reconnaissance, surveillance, EW, tactical camouflage, engineering issues, protection against WMD), moral psychological, technical and logistical aspects.

Thus, the Military Regulations, even on a brief review of the content, makes it possible to clarify for themselves the depth and comprehensiveness of the measures necessary for the solution, requiring exact and full implementation in the course of the application of troops. This applies not only to combat operations carried out using conventional weapons, but also to strikes by nuclear and other types of weapons of mass destruction.

The combat statute is not a document demanding dogmatic fulfillment, its provisions give principles and bases that allow developing tactical methods and methods of action that are most expedient in the emerging situation. It should be applied in accordance with the situation, and the commander should solve the tasks assigned to him creatively.
