Western Siberia and its amazing nature

Western Siberia is an amazing place. Few places you can find such picturesque landscapes, so clean air, beautiful mountains and transparent lakes. In addition, the West Siberian lowland is the third largest in the world.

Dimensions and scales

One has only to imagine - Western Siberia occupies about 2.6 million square kilometers! It's just incredible scale. It stretches for 2,500 kilometers from the Kara Sea to the semi-deserts of Kazakhstan (from the north to the south) and from the Yenisei to the Urals (from east to west) by 1,900 km. The vast expanses of Siberia are simply mesmerizing.

It is interesting that the surface of the lowland is mostly flat, and if there are differences, they are insignificant. Elevations are a characteristic feature for all suburbs, except for the northern. In the southern, western and eastern regions, they occur quite often. But they are low - a maximum of 300 meters. In the central regions, the lowlands are as high as 150 meters above sea level. In general, it should be noted that nature is amazing here, and this is one of the features that distinguishes Western Siberia.

Resources and environmental conditions

The lowland area is represented by the whole range of soils - here you can meet both chernozems and tundra rocks. A special attention should be paid to the climate of Western Siberia. It is sharply continental.

In winter, it's very cold in these places, besides, pressure is falling here - slowly but surely, and it keeps at a low level for quite some time. Also there are winds of southern rumba. The climate of Siberia can not stand far from everyone - unoccupied here is not the place, because the absolute temperature minimum in the south is -50 degrees. In the center and in the northern part this indicator is -55`C. The most "warm" (if one can call it that) district is south-west. There, the temperature in winter is relatively low - to a maximum of minus 28. Indeed, for Siberians this is absolutely normal, but southerners instantly flinch when they hear the indicator -10. What to say about such temperatures, as, for example, -60, and this is not uncommon here.

It's no wonder that snow here is an ordinary phenomenon. Western Siberia is covered with a white fluffy cover about 270 days a year. But this is in the north, in the southern part this figure is 160 days. The thickness of the snow cover is rather large - more than half a meter. Indeed, it's impressive.

"Warm" Siberia

Summer in Siberia, as it was already possible to understand, no. However, warming is observed. Closer to summer, the pressure begins to normalize, and the temperature - to rise. Air, by the way, gets warm pretty quickly. The most "hot" weather in these places is different - it depends on the area. In the north, not far from the coast of Yamal, the average temperature in the summer is four degrees of heat. If we take into account the Arctic Circle, then there is an indicator above - as much as 14 `C. In the extreme south, July is more like a summer - there is enough heat, thermometers show +22. In the north, too, a pleasant climate, and the temperature in July is 28 degrees. And, finally, the south - there is even too hot, as thermometers often show +45 `C.

Rains often occur in Siberia. From April until October, there is a "stormy" season here. About 80% of the precipitation falls precisely on this period. This happens in all places, except in the southern regions - sometimes there is absolutely no rain.
