And if right now it is impossible, then at least with a small part of the culture of these peoples you can introduce your family directly at breakfast or lunch. Although I sincerely believe that if you really want something, a wish or a dream will necessarily become a reality. I suggest you a recipe for tortillas - this, of course, is not the use of desire, but the first step to it you will certainly do.

If you do not know this word, then I will be happy to tell you about what kind of dish, how and with what it is eaten, not only the Spaniards or Mexicans. In general, the tortilla came to us from Mexican cuisine. This is a cake made from corn or wheat flour. Baked them yet, the Indians, but the conquerors who came and gave this dish the name of the tortilla. But for Mexicans this is not just a cake, it is the basis for most Mexican dishes. It is served instead of bread and is used instead of cutlery. This is their national pride and an integral part of their culture! In Spain, too, are prepared with a tortilla, but here this stuff looks different. Let's talk about the Spanish tortilla and, of course, prepare, later. First of all, we will begin to prepare the Mexican.

So, the recipe for tortilla is surprisingly simple. We take: corn flour 500 grams (necessarily fine grinding), butter (can be replaced with margarine) - 100 grams, warm water - about a glass, you need a baking powder - 1-2 teaspoons. If you did not find corn flour, just replace it with wheat flour. The last ingredient is salt (two pinches).

Mix the flour (sifted), baking powder and salt. Add the finely chopped butter and begin to knead the dough, gradually adding water. The dough should become elastic and not stick to the hands. The dough was kneaded. Give him a little rest, cover it with a cotton towel and let it stand for 10-15 minutes. Divide the dough into pieces (almost the size of a chicken egg). Roll each piece on the table into a thin pancake. Fry the cake on both sides over a large fire. It is important not to add oil or fat to the pan. Tortilla is fried in a dry frying pan! And do not worry if your cakes turn out to be pale with some brown bubbles. It should be so. Here it is, a real cake-tortilla on your table. And then you have to figure out what you'll eat with it. It can be wrapped boiled chicken with lettuce leaves, egg-scrambled eggs (as the conquistadors did), fresh vegetables. In general, everything that you love! And how do you recipe a tortilla?

Let's continue the journey. We leave for Spain. Spanish tortilla is also easy to prepare. The Spaniards do not fry the tortillas, this national dish is more like an omelette. We sometimes call it a potato tortilla.

Each housewife will find in the kitchen: potatoes - 4 pieces, chicken eggs - 5 pieces, onion (can be added and green), 2 cloves of garlic, salt, pepper (I recommend using a mixture of peppers) and olive oil.

Peel potatoes, cut into thin slices (5mm) and fry until half-prepared with olive oil. Add the finely chopped onion and hold the frying pan on the fire for another 3-5 minutes. In the meantime, whip the eggs together with the salt and seasonings. Once the potatoes and onions are almost ready, put them on a plate and allow the oil to drain. Then potatoes with onions are added to the eggs and sent to a frying pan. Fry the tortilla on both sides. That's it, the recipe for tortilla, which is prepared in Spain. Serve the tortilla on a table slightly cooled, sprinkled with herbs with cherry tomatoes or simply with vegetables.
