Pancreas cancer

The pancreas is an organ lobular and located behind the stomach. The head of the organ is in the abdominal cavity on the right. It binds to the duodenum. A narrow portion of the pancreas (tail) goes to the left.

This body is responsible for the allocation of hormones (including insulin). The juice produced by the pancreas contains enzymes that help digest food in the small intestine. Insulin is responsible for the level of blood sugar. Thus, hormones and enzymes are needed for the stable functioning of the body.

Pancreatic cancer is characterized by the spread of the lymphatic system. It is represented in the body tissues by a network of vascular branches. Malignant tumor cells pass through this system, along which groups of small organs in the form of beans are located. These are the lymph nodes. When surgical intervention is often carried out their removal, in order to determine whether they spread pancreatic cancer. Malignant tumor cells can be carried by the bloodstream to the lungs, liver, bones and other organs. Such spreading pancreatic cancer is characterized as metastatic.

Unfortunately, it is difficult to explain why some people develop a malignant tumor, while others do not. However, experts find out the triggers of pancreatic cancer factors. The main and most common is smoking. Studies show that people who abuse this habit, pancreatic cancer develops more than three times. When a person refuses to smoke, the risk of a malignant tumor is significantly reduced.

The development of a malignant tumor in the pancreas doctors call a "silent" disease. This is due to the absence of any manifestations at the initial stages of its formation.

When the tumor develops in the bile duct, it spreads to the digestive system. In patients there is painless jaundice accompanied by darkening of the urine and yellowing of the eye proteins.

Pancreatic head cancer is usually characterized by more severe symptoms. The patients feel pain localized in the right hypochondrium. In some cases, their manifestation is similar to the symptoms of ulcerative, cholelithiasis, cholecystitis.

The development of a malignant tumor in the body and tail of the pancreas is even more pronounced. Often the symptom acts as the earliest manifestation. In this case, pain with the course of the disease becomes painful and extremely unbearable. Their localization is noted in the epigastric department. Often the pains have a shingling character. In some cases, they are localized in the region of the spine, shoulder, left scapula or behind the breastbone.

To a rare form of development of a malignant neoplasm carry cancer of an islet zone. In this area, insulin and other hormones are produced. When the tumor spreads to this area, patients experience chills, dizziness, weakness, diarrhea, or muscle spasms.

Treatment of malignant neoplasm in the pancreas depends on many factors. They should include the volume, type, size of the tumor, as well as the state of health and age of the patient.

It should be noted that the cure for malignant neoplasm is possible only if it is diagnosed at early stages before its extensive spread. However, at the same time, getting rid of it is quite difficult. Despite this, the symptoms of the disease can be alleviated, and the patient's quality of life is significantly improved.
