The history of the Novosibirsk theater "Red Torch" is very interesting and not entirely ordinary. There is it since the beginning of the 20th century. The building in which this theater is located, in 2014 marked its centenary.

From the history of the theater

Since 1920, there is the theater "Red Torch". The history of its creation originates in the glorious city of Odessa. It was there that the troupe was formed under the direction of the director Vladimir Konstantinovich Tatishchev. The theater "Red Torch" for 11 years was mobile. Only in 1932 he became stationary and got a residence in the city of Novosibirsk. In the building, built in 1914, the theater "Red Torch" is located. The history of this room is no less interesting. It was built according to the project of the famous Novosibirsk architect Andrey Kryachkov. To the theater in the building there was a commercial meeting, where business meetings, balls, as well as performances with the participation of amateur actors were held. Several reconstructions were carried out here. The building of the theater today is one of the architectural monuments of Novosibirsk. Thanks to the appearance of his company in the city, culture began to develop, other art centers began to emerge. The head of the theater created it as the embodiment of scenic ideas of such great teachers and directors as Stanislavsky, Meyerhold, Tairov. Today the troupe is still true to Russian traditions. But at the same time the theater is open and to search for something new, for experiments.

The performances of the "Red Torch" six times became the nominees for the National Theater Award "Golden Mask". The theater is touring the cities of Russia and often carries its productions abroad. Over the past few years the troupe has visited Finland, the USA, China, Poland, Germany, Greece and so on. Since 2003, the theater has been publishing its own newspaper. Since 1999, he actively participates in all-Russian and international festivals. Reconstruction

The building of the theater "Red Torch" was updated several years ago. Reconstruction was carried out from 2004 to 2008. All the premises of the theater were completely renovated. Overlapping has been replaced. The interiors were restored in their historical form. During the reconstruction, the Small Auditorium was built from scratch. It is designed for 120 seats. Now the theater has two auditoriums. Large can accommodate 510 people. Both scenes after the reconstruction are equipped with the most modern equipment. Each room has its own separate entrance and wardrobe. During the reconstruction were restored: window apertures at the portico on the eastern facade, a dome-shaped lantern, window frame decorations, window openings of the second floor and arches - on the first, images of torches on the eastern facade, were returned to the roof. The main entrance is now open on the other side - from Lenin Street.

This is a wise story about the all-conquering power of love, capable of disarming even the most cynical, of honesty and of true friendship, which no villains fear. A fairy tale about good, stronger than which there is nothing in the world. The son was born to the Tsar - Ivan. And the same night, at the cunning Varvara, the housekeeper, a boy also appeared. And soon a foundling appeared in the palace. All of them were called Ivan. And everything would be fine, but the envious master woman decided to substitute the king's son for her. Who will be the king of Ivanov? Who has to work hard all his life - bend his back? And who will sing songs? Who will manage to outwit Koshchei the Immortal himself? And with whom would the princess Milolica go under the crown? The Krasnyi Torch Theater will give young spectators answers to all these and not just these numerous questions.

"Novo-Siberian Transit"

Since 2001, the "Red Torch" Theater has been hosting the Interregional Festival. Initially, it was called "Siberian Transit". This project in 2005 was recognized as the best at the International Festival "Diaghilev Seasons: Perm - Petersburg - Paris". The author of the idea is the director of the theater Alexander Kulyabin. Since 2010 the festival is called "Novo-Siberian Transit". Thanks to his existence, the tour was revived in Siberia. The festival is held once in two years. It shows the best dramatic productions of theaters in Siberia, the Urals, and the Far East. The festival attracts like-minded people who want to draw attention of a wide audience to their creative achievements. The symbol of "Novo-Siberian transit" is the wheel. Now the festival is held exclusively in Novosibirsk, where theatrical collectives from the three above-mentioned regions come. And before that, it was really transitory and was held in one city, then another. Thanks to this festival, summer tours for the exchange, meetings of directors of theaters, screenings of a large number of performances by young beginning directors, communication of critics with troupes and so on became possible. Irina Vasilyevna Kulyabina is in charge of the "Novo-Siberian Transit". In the autumn (6 months before the festival), the jury members travel to Siberia, the Urals and the Far East, watch various performances and choose the best for the invitation to participate in the "New Siberian Transit".

Charity

V.P. Redlich, the largest Siberian director of the 20th century, headed the theater "Red Torch" (Novosibirsk) in the 50s of the last century. She had the title of People's Artist of the RSFSR. Thanks to her, the theater "Red Torch" became famous all over the country, like the "Siberian MAT". In her honor the charitable foundation is named. He is called to provide financial support to actors and other employees of the theater "Red Torch", important projects and so on.
