"Carambole" - the theater, which is located in St. Petersburg, - 2015 marked the 25th anniversary. The amazing combination of dramatic and musical art creates a special atmosphere of productions and lends brightness to each project.

Creation of theater

The "Carambol" Theater was opened in 1989 with the production of "Swineherd". The inspirer of the idea was Irina Brondz, who today is the director and creative leader, and Tatyana Kramorova. In 1996, the cultural institution received the status of the State. At the opening the theater meant only children's repertoire, but by 2014 there were performances for the adult spectator. This was favored by a broad need, thanks to visitors and an industrial necessity.

The theater received its name "Carambol" due to billiards. In a big game, this is the concept of striking, when the main ball (which is struck) during its movement hits two more balls. In the theater, this idea can be deciphered as a triple creation of drama, dance and music on the same stage. The second version of the title's history is more romantic and closer to the truth - it's an operetta sound.

The first production, in which the children from the studio took part, was "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs". Initially, it was conceived that the guys would play the role of the dwarves, but the musical parts proved to be a difficult material for them. For 25 years the State Musical has not had its own stage. The performances are in the Palace of Culture of the Leningrad City Council and Vyborg Palace of Culture.
