There are many countries on our planet, and therefore it is not surprising that the names of settlements, some urban or geographical objects are often repeated. A good example is Moscow. New time - a new architectural style

A water tower (an unofficial symbol of "Uralmash") was very beautiful and located in a good place: it seemed to close the prospect of the Prospect of Culture. But the huge building of the DK UZTM, built in 1970, took on the role of the final element of this avenue, completely blocking the view from the square of the First Five-Year Plan.
The tragedy of orphan objects
It is completely incomprehensible why for 80 years nobody cared about such an interesting object as the White Tower. Yekaterinburg conscientiously exploits the brand, the city has dozens of different societies and organizations, shops and insurance companies with this recognizable name. But, except for the indignation that the object is being destroyed, the city is disgraced to foreigners, there is no progress towards its reconstruction. The tower even gave an offensive name, explaining what the museum is. And at the same time, the annual architectural festival held in Yekaterinburg since 2010, is given the name so popular in the city. And the building is not even guarded, and there is nothing surprising in that sometimes the White Tower (Yekaterinburg) becomes the center of criminal scandals and fights. This attitude to one of the business cards of the city from the residents is unfair. The exploitation of the name alone by the car market hundreds of times blocked the funds necessary for the restoration of the architectural monument.
Objective necessity of construction
The history of the White Tower (Yekaterinburg) is interesting and sad. It appeared simultaneously with the Urals plant of heavy engineering (in March 1928, immediately after the liberation of the city from Kolchak was laid the first stone of the plant) and was called the Water Tower UZTM. It was located in Ordzhonikidzevsky district of the city - then Sverdlovsk. It was necessary for the workers of the shock construction. In the sotsgorodok water for the needs of the inhabitants was brought by horses. In 1928, with the support of the chief engineer of Uralmash V. Fidler, a contest was held. Constructivism - a style that is distinguished by rigor, geometrism, laconic forms and monolithic appearance, was in great fashion. The sketch of VM Reischer won. The structure was erected on a hill, its own height is 29 meters. All this made the tower dominant over the surrounding territory.
The start did not work out
A beautiful modern object, the White Tower (Yekaterinburg), personified a bright future. The building was whitewashed with lime and immediately received a corresponding name in the people, different from the official one. Despite the fact that the amendments were made by V.Fiedler himself (the condition that the tank should only be metal, and the need for additional legs under it), it was not without trouble. When manufacturing the largest, the largest at that time in the world (in Soviet Russia there was such an understandable weakness, after all, the country itself is the largest in the world), a completely new technology was used. Welding the seams replaced the rivet, but the tank could not stand the first test, and 750 cubic meters of water poured from the 29 meter height down through the torn bottom. Not only this caused the premature death of Vladimir Fedorovich Fidler, a remarkable man, but death saved him from the fate of the "enemy of the people". The structure, however, after correcting the errors recorded, was restored and successfully operated until 1960.

Meters, designed for 700 cars, the car "White Tower" is a central car site in Yekaterinburg and the Sverdlovsk region. It is located next to the famous market "At the White Tower". The three-story auto show accommodates 9 service units, 1 tire fitting and 4 washing units. Thanks to this largest enterprise, the name of the abandoned object is heard by everyone. Maybe this will help to draw the attention of the authorities to it and move the problem of an interesting historical monument from the dead point.
