The theme of memory in the lyrics of Tvardovsky. Military lyrics of Tvardovsky

One of the significant and at the same time contradictory figures in Soviet literature was A. T. Twardovsky, whose poems and poems are distinguished by their closeness to folk speech and folklore, a special individuality and uniqueness. Family values and the Great Patriotic War, the memory of the soldiers who died in the battles for the Motherland, are, perhaps, the most important aspects of the poet's work. He became a witness to the dekulakization, approval and debunking of the totalitarian system of Stalin, a participant in the Finnish and Great Patriotic War. Rich life experience and reliance on reality make Alexander Trifonovich's works unusually popular with readers.

Lyrics Features

When working on works Tvardovsky relied on the best folklore traditions, took into account the features of the Russian character. That is why his poems are simple and understandable to every reader. Yes, and the lyrical hero, as a rule, is a native of the people, who initially causes respect and love from the author. The poet himself believed that the main theme in his work was the theme of memory, which was always at all times. In Tvardovsky's lyrics, it is reflected in reflections on a native family, dispossessed and deported, when the future poet was still quite young. For example, in the poem "The Brothers" we hear a note of suffering and yearning for close people with whom he was forced to live apart. But the theme of memory in Tvardovsky's lyrics about the war is especially brightly embodied.

Front chronicle

Everyone knows that the poet participated in the Finnish campaign of the late 30's. And after the Great Patriotic War, he went to the front as a correspondent, but he was always on the front line. The poet fully knew all the difficulties of the field soldier's life and told about it to his readers.

Military lyrics of Tvardovsky are versatile. These are publicistic poems, which are appeals to fight the hated enemy ("The Soldier of the Southern Front", "Partisans of Smolensk"). And small plot poems, reminiscent of "novels" about heroic deeds ("The Tankman's Story") or soldier's life ("Army Shoemaker"). Finally, poetry-reflection, imbued with pain for the fate of the people and the whole country ("Two lines"). But the main thing that unites them is the author's comprehension of personal responsibility for preserving the memory of those who gave their lives for the sake of the liberation of the Motherland. This thought never left Alexander Trifonovich as a man, and became the main motto of the poet-Tvardovsky.

"I'm killed under Rzhev": a lyrical hero and the main idea

A poem, written several months after the end of the war, was first called "Warrior's Testament." This is not accidental, since the narrative in it is conducted on behalf of the soldier who died in the battles for Rzhev. The lyric hero is a generalized image of a soldier-liberator who, referring to all survivors, notes: "You should have stood, brothers, ..." Thus, even after the death of a Russian soldier, the fate of comrades and the country is troubling. And there is no reproach in one line for the fact that he died, while others remained alive. After all, this sacrifice is not in vain.

This is the military lyrics of Tvardovsky. In the face of a huge disaster, the concrete is blurred and becomes common. And such opposite values, like death and eternal immortality, loss and unforgettable feat, are interwoven so much that they are inseparable from each other.

"The book about the fighter"

The most famous work of AT Tvardovsky was the poem "Vasily Terkin", created during the war. It shows the image of a brave soldier who walked with the author all the way from 42 to 45 years and embodied the best qualities of the Russian people. Terkin always turns out to be in the center of events, gets into various troubles, but never fades, does not lose hope and faith, finds a way out of the most difficult situation. At the same time the hero often feels pain and bitterness, maybe even cry, Tvardovsky emphasizes.

Poems also sound funny and brisk, then filled with a bitter and inexpressible sense of loss, as in the chapter "Crossing": "People are warm, alive / went to the bottom ..." And the theme of the memory of those who remained forever through the poem Lie on the battlefield. Therefore, it is the duty of every person to never forget about the great price that the Soviet people paid for a peaceful future.

The poems of AT Tvardovsky

Collectivization and dekulakization ("The Land of Muravia"), the Great Patriotic War and the heroism of the people ("Vasily Terkin"), the "thaw" under Khrushchev ("For the distance - the distance"), debunking the cult of personality and totalitarianism ("By the right of memory") - The main stages of the country's historical development in the 1920s and 1960s became part of Tvardovsky's fate and were reflected in his poems. The author recreates the past on the pages of the works in order to once again remind contemporaries: each of us is responsible for what happens to the people and the country. This idea was most vividly embodied in his last poem.

"By right of memory"

The work was for a long time forbidden. His composition, consisting of 3 parts, introduces the reader to the poet's life, his youthful dreams and hopes. And most importantly - Alexander Trifonovich openly talks about the tragedy that befell the village in the 30s. It was then that his father, a hard worker, was dekulakized and exiled. So the theme of memory in Tvardovsky's lyrics partly turns into filial repentance not only before his family, but also before the entire Russian peasantry. Like the verdict, the words sounded in the poem addressed to the "leader of the people" and the so-called "silent people": "... they forget to be silently told ... But this was a clear pain / For those whose life was cut short." The author remembers people whom he knew personally, which makes the work credible.

The poem is primarily dedicated to youth and sounds like an eternal reminder that history can not be divided into segments. That everything is interconnected in it, and the past can be repeated in the present or in the future. That is why the title of the poem is already declared as the main theme of memory.

In Tvardovsky's lyrics, therefore, the important issue at all times is the actual at all times: it is necessary to know and love your family and your Motherland and you must remember the experience. This is the only way to move forward, avoiding the repetition of the terrible mistakes of the past.
